We don't play board games that often as DH and DS are not big fans. I love Trouble, Snakes and Ladders, Yatzhee, Boggle, Trivial Pursuit, all the classics.
I suppose it depends what you already have in the games cupboard.

My kids love Monopoly and Life. Apples to Apples is fun too if I remember correctly. Monopoly Deal is a card game that we all enjoy too.

Scattegories is a hoot! And Yahtzee is a fun game that we love in our family too. Uno is great to play too.

Lots of fond memories of playing those games with my mom, siblings and all the nieces and nephews in the family.

Qwirkle

Qwirkle. It fun and easy to learn. Comes in two types. One is tiles and the other is in dice form. Really makes you think but can be played with younger people with just matching.
I found ours on eBay for less than the listed price plus free shipping. I have the tiles for DD's and the dice type for DS.

Duh!!

I forgot to mention the kids will be 20 & 18 at Christmas time.

DD and I were talking about Life - I had that game as a kid and loved it.

We also have been talking about Apples to Apples, but read that you need a minimum of 4 players. We are a family of 3.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

Apples to apples is best with 4 and more... Life is always my go to favorite. My daughter gets tired of it..LOL I'll ask my daughter..who's 19 and get back with you. Her friends play alot of games.

There are some quick versions of Monopoly that are fun. A few we like do better with 4. Mexican train might do for 3? My parents love it but I can't get the rules. It's fun.

I purchased the game today when I was at Walmart.

I bought The Logo Board Game.

The kids were looking at it when we were at Toys R Us a little while ago and thought it looked like fun.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
