I hit a combination of buttons and my message disappeared, so sorry if I post something similar twice.
My tip for spending less is to shop for any really little kids on your list in late summer and early fall. The stores clear toys at rock bottom prices to make room for the new Christmas toys.
I spent $34 on my daughter for Christmas, and I feel like I got her too much. Retail value on the toys I got her was over $200.00.
The only other child on my list will be under a year old, and I got him an amazing toy for $7 that retails for $70, just because the store was clearing out their toy section.
Really, at the toddler and young preschooler age, a kid doesn't know enough to care if they are getting last year's model of Elmo instead of this year's. I'm sure this won't work as well once the kids are old enough to want what their friends want, but while they are very young it's a great way to trim the budget!
