Magical Monday Dinners...What's cooking? 1/11/10

Good day!

What's on your menu today? We're having Steak Salads. It's one of our favs from our dating years and dining out at a local restaurant. It's salad with steak, fries, hard boiled eggs, cucumbers and ranch dressing. So yummy!

We will have boneless pork chops, green beans, salad and potatoes of some type. (mashed or baked)

I'm determined to make chicken pot pie since we ordered pizza last night. If we don't have that we'll have country pasta.

Supper is in the crockpot. Beef roast with potatoes, oignons, carrots, turnip, 1 beef consommé & 1 tomato soup + 3 tablespoons of flour.

MrsSoup...please share the recipe!!! Chicken Pot Pie is my favorite "feel good" food in the winter.

We're having porkchops and gnocchi with green beans.

The roast from this weekend is still waiting in the refrig. I'm thinking Gulaschuppe (German Goulash Soup).

1 pound beef cubed small and browned 2 tablespoons oil
a few handfuls of carrots and or potatoes, cut small
1 red and 1 green pepper, cut into bite size pieces
1 small onions, chopped
1.2 can tomato paste
2 liters beef broth
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon extra sharp paprika (I just use 2 teaspoons of paprika)
1 teaspoon kummels (caraway seeds)
1 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 clove, crushed
1 tablespoon speisestarke (cornstarch)
Cook in crock pot
Add 1 glass read wine before serving (optional)
Serve with a spoon of sour cream in each bowl.
1 glass read wine (add right before serving)
