Shannon's 12 commandments

Here are my 12. They are subject to change

1- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

2- Take care of me. I am the only me there is

3-It is what it is- don't make it something it's not

4-Savor the moment, it's a gift from God

5-My house is a sanctuary and I will treat is like it is

6-If it's not working for me, change something. I maybe not be able to control others but I can control me

7-find joy in the rain

8-Act like a child when the situation arises

9-be spontanious-be open to the moment

10-be creative

11- If it anit broke don't fix it. (the opposite is true as well)

12-learn to enjoy the quiet

Shannon what a great list. I can relate to a lot of your commandments too. In fact I can relate to everyones commandments. I would have to have a list of 36.

Mel, I find it interesting that #5 is the one you liked and it's the one I decided to change. I don't really change things if they work and I really felt that I needed to ad something about making my house a priority.

Some rules for adulthood

give restpect

lead by your actions

Evan adults have to wait in line. Fast does not mean in 3 seconds

IF you are done w/ it, put it back. AT home and in stores.

I have been working on taking care of me. i am loosing weight and learning healthier eating habbits. I was really bad about eating fast food and after not had any for a while those craving are managable and I am learing about things like portion control.

Also Savor the moment. Savor is my word for the year. I am trying to be present in the present and enjoy my self. I can think of several time even recently I have done just that.

It is what it is.... I wrote aobut it in my word of the year thread. I can choose to be upset and irritated at things or I can choose to laugh and move on. It is often not worth my extra energy to be irritated.
