I am having a bit of a mental block when it comes to ideas for the Christmas stockings. The kids mind you are 22 and 27, DH and my mum get stockings too.

I seem to get them the same thing year after year and although they seem happy I would love some new ideas.

What items do you all put in your stockings?

I only have two stockings to prepare, so I am not sure if this will be of much help, but I looked at my binder from last year -
DD13 - hair ties, lip gloss, nail polish and file, personalized ornament, cute little notepad and pen set, dunkin donuts gift card, purse sized perfume, chocolate

DH- electric tooth brush, travel coffee mug with starbucks gift card inside, car air freshner clippy doodad thingy, duck call, chocolate covered bacon

Chocolate covered bacon. Oh lordy, that could be so good.
A purse sized perfume would be a good idea for DD22

I like to put hand-made soaps in my grown DD's stockings. I don't make it myself, but keep an eye out at craft fairs and gift shops. I knit them some dish cloths, too. They also get some of their favorite candies/chocolates. Some spice mixes are nice gifts, too. You could make your own or purchase at a craft fair or specialty shop. Kitchen utensils ... For DSonsIL, I also look for hand-made soaps with more masculine names (musk, etc.) Guys like to smell good, too.

I'm looking forward to seeing others' ideas!

AuntJamelle ~ How big are your stockings!?
ROFL What a great list! Love how it's divided into categories. Under Hobbies, I would add fat quarters. Under Horticulture, I'd add some houseplant fertilizer. Other ideas your post sparked: I have a couple of small pencilish-sized levels that I use to straighten out picture frames. At the hardware store, DH gets these little tweezers that have a sharp point that are terrific for all applications. I use them to pick out stabilizer on machine embroidery. DH uses them for splinters.
