I'm going to REPOST some of the series of elf ideas I wrote and put up over at the Magic Elf blog. Here's one of them!
The Magic of Dreams
What are dreams made of? They consist of the stories in your heart, the magical essence of your soul, and the goodness of your spirit. All mixed together, along with creativity, imagination, and hope. Sprinkled with laughter and glistening with delight…dreams transform our lives. The Magic Elves provide us with many opportunities to retreat from the busy world around us and focus on our dreams. Just drift away and imagine winter wonderlands, snowy surprises, and lots of Christmas magic!
Elf Dreamland #1:
Host an Elf Dreamland Celebration. Think Elf slumber party. For the slumber party…it can be a Girls Night with Elfish appetizers, drinks, and a favorite Christmas Movie or two. This would certainly make a fun…mother daughter slumber party theme. Of course the elves send the invitations and if you are including younger kids, elf party games will be a hit. Make sure to use lots of white tulle when you decorate for the party with golden stars sprinkled about.
Elf Dreamland #2
Host a Candy Making event….I’m sure the elves dream about candy a lot! It can be adults, kids, or a combination…that’s the beauty of elf magic..there are so many spins you can put on it. Have the elves send a….. HELP! Santa Needs Candy invitation and request assistance with Christmas Candy making. You can keep the cost down by asking that each invitee brings the ingredients for a favorite candy and enough for all the party goers to take a small sampling home…..say a dozen pieces?? Or you may choose as the hostess to pick a couple of your favorite recipes to make and share.
Elf Dream Journals:
Alter some journals to use as Dream journals, include them in a small gift bag with a note from the elves about Happy Dreams and perhaps a few other nighty-night items, like hot chocolate recipe, eye mask, or lavender scented linen spray. Ummm wonderful dreams start with wonderful scents!!!
Sweet Dreams:
For children: a cute project is to make door knob hangers with “Sweet Dreams” on it and decorated with…you’ve got it candy wrappers!!! Have the elves leave a note with the idea for the project…and some candy wrappers left from their midnight snack!!!
SHHH Elf Sleeping: Elves dream too you know….how about creatiung a door knob hanger or a sign for your Magic Elf that says something like “SHHH Elf Sleeping” Each night the kids can put up or flip the sign after they put elf to bed.
Dream Stars: Dreams are more than what you have when you sleep. They are your hearts desire, things you would do if you could do anything you wanted to. Have your elf leave notes about their dreams on star shaped paper and make sure they leave a few extra stars for the kids to write their dreams on…HOW cute to put these in the scrapbook!
Pillows: Use those fluffy peppermints as suggested earlier or use marshmellows. Put them in baggies…attach a star tag that says The Magic Elves are Wishing That ALL Your Dreams Come True.”
