I always try to do something for Rudy Day even if it is only wearing Christmas socks. Sometimes life just gets in the way on Rudy Days and I don't get to do the things I want to do.

This year I am going to make sure that I celebrate even if it has to be on another day, especially if I have to work on the 25th. I have a huge red wire basket filled with all of my movies, books, magazines and CD's. I can get to them easily and will be pulling them out often throughout the year.

This year my focus is on watching some of the old classic Christmas movies and making Christmas cards. I will make sure I order a movie from the library in time for it to get here to watch and figure out how many cards to make a month to be done by December 1st.

I am really looking forward to Rudy Days this year!!

I plan to get serious and have fun each Rudolph day in 2010! I did so much in Christmas in July that I was in overload. I would have been okay if things would have stayed normal around here, but my two nieces came to live with us on Sept. 1 and my life changed drastically. I seemed to be running full tilt right up until Christmas. I worked almost full time which I usually don't do, and then was also trying to prepare for Christmas for the two kids, which was a challenge this first year. I will be prepared next year.

I was slowly trying to declutter and make room for them for what seemed like months. When you are essentially empty nesters and then have an adult daughter move back home with all of her furniture and stuff, it sort of cramps your style and house. Then when you have a very active 7 1/2 and 11 1/2 year old come in with virtually nothing, you still have to make major adjustments. As we acquired clothing, toys, and all the necessities and many of the creature comforts needed for the girls, I had to declutter more and more. I still have a ways to go with this, but will use Rudy Day each month to do a little more.

The good news is that the church resale store is getting a lot of really good stuff!!!!

In January, I plan to make a major effort at planning out the other Rudy Days and getting my notebook in order. I will also be including some pics from this year in the notebook, so I will remember what I did when it is time to decorate.

I don't plan to be behind next year. I didn't post to my Christmas blog a time all season!!!!! I was just in way way overload zone after the Boo Bash and all that I had to accomplish in a short amount of time. However, the holiday was great and very calm. I really enjoyed my new family and the new traditions that we shared.

January Ruddy Day falls on a Monday so I won't be able to do to much. I'll only have the evening unless I move it to Sunday, then I'll have more time. I do plan to do the following
1. Start a Ruddy Day tote (music, movies, books)
2. Go through patterns for presents or decorations that I want to make for the holidays and put them in the tote.
3. Write out my plans for the following Ruddy Days for the rest of the year

[ ] watch a Christma smovie
[ ] organize my Christmas planner

I have never got into the routine of Rudolph Day as I find that more often than not it falls on a work day and I find it hard to get any thing done. My mum and I though do get together 1 day a month where we do some planning, baking, crafting, or organizing. We will try very hard this year to finish some crafts that have been lurking in the to do box and to be well and truly organized with gifts.

Printer'sDevil, what a lovely, amazing woman you are, to take your nieces in!

Rudy Day for me is all about prep.

For January, I'll do a quick recap and debrief, then start addressing and signing Christmas cards. It takes no time whatsoever to crank out 10 or so each Rudy Day, and it's always such a nice thing to cross off the list.

I'd also like to start making a few pages of my 2010 Christmas journal on each Rudy Day this year, but that will probably wait til the weekend. I can't get my creative noho working on work nights, for some reason!

As Snowqueen pointed out, Rudolph Day is on a Monday in January. Will you observe it on Monday or choose another day? Have you penciled it into your new 2010 calendar yet?

Monday is good for me!
I will list some elf projects to do, work on Christmas card tags(if they aren't done), and maybe start work on some slippers! I'll put on my vest and drink hot chocolate and watch a movie! Is there a Rudy Day Movie pick this year?

Ginger suggested Four Christmases which I'd like to see. Will that work for those who are interested in watching a movie?

I'll probably do Rudy day on Sunday, the 24th. I'll be home and can really live it up!

On Monday, the 25th- I'll put my Santa figuerine out at work.

I'll watch Four Christmases with y'all.
