HAPPY NEW YEAR MY FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope this finds everybody well and rested (at least some) from the holidays! But that could take a few more days if you were running up to the New Year.

I have a few ideals for some crafting for 2017 but more will still be coming. The few things that I know of now are:

Doll items for Teigans birthday--Jan. 25th (party is the 21st) --would like to do some washcloths, hooded towels, diapers, wipes with the cloth thingy to pull them out of, bibs, burp rags, a diaper bag of some type, maybe a blanket or 2.

Have been wanting to do a quiet book and was thinking Easter--totally need to work on that. Some of the pages are involved. AuntJ would be great with that felt project!

Thru the 12 Days of Christmas Swap I received 2 wool dryer balls. I had never seen or heard of these and upon getting them and telling of them a few said they use them and love them.

Would like a more homemade Christmas so will be thinking.

Also, I would like to take my machine in to be cleaned and checked-----never want to be without it tho!

What plans do you have this week?

Greetings and Happy New Year!

Great plans, Lana! The soft books are very nice but can be a time-consuming project. I have a machine embroidery design that has cute animals with moving legs. They can cover their eyes and play peek-a-boo. It might be a nice little gift for Julia that I could have time for once I finish her growth chart.

The growth chart is a priority for me this week. I plan to go to Sew Fun with a friend on Tuesday. Will be working on CCS Valentine motifs in the evenings and perhaps squeeze in some more organza poinsettias. My sewing machine needs some attention, too. I’ll have to take it in to the shop once I finish the growth chart and before I start quilting DD’s quilt.

Hope everyone is enthusiastic about crafting in the new year. I love reading about what everyone is working on.

Lana I would love to do some doll things for dn8 she just got one of those reborn dolls (that I think is the ugliest thing ever). The day after Christmas my mom went and picked up some outfits for it that were on clearance at Walmart and she was completely thrilled to have more than one outfit for it. Now she has my mom searching garage sale sites for a swing and car seat she can buy for it.

I can't take all this craft stuff in totes that I can use the totes for other things so I think today is going to be a wreath making day just to get rid of stuff. I have a portable closet thing that I can put wreaths in for next year. I just want the stuff out of my way

Other things
:)Wrap up Kali's wine glass candle holders (still need candle's first)
:)finish up Kayla's wine glass holders (only need to put her initial on one then let dry for a couple of days, and get candles)
Decorate wreaths that are already made up
Make up other wreaths
:)Finish up Emma's necklace holder
:)Finish up "And the stockings were hung" wood project I need to finish
:)Sand Kenny's Class of 2017 frame I started last night and don't like so going to redo
Figure out Kenny's t-shirt quilt
Make up a blanket if I have enough fleece for Tessa (Emma's dog she keeps stealing hers right off of her and covering up with it.
:)Finish up Kenny's class of 2017 frame

I have a few craft kits made up and in a tote in the craft cupboard. Felt heart ornaments and felt snowman ornaments.
Will work on those as soon as I finish the rug I am working on.

Lana, I just picked up some of those wool sheep balls. I have three in the dryer. So far we really like them. I gave one to each dog as a toy. Not the ones from the dryer but if we drop one out of the dryer the dogs think they are fair game. Glad they are washable. lol

No crafts on my list for this week. I did buy fleece for a blanket for grandson's birthday. I thought DD might like to make it. But do not think I'll get around to setting it up for her this week.

Happy New Year!

I have UFO of kitchen towels to crochet on top of in all the seasons. I could make them up and have two sets to give away next Christmas ... if I would only start doing them! This past year, that project never saw the light of day.

DS13 and I will try our hand at Pet Fancy Rat Hammocks. LOL Yes, DD24 raises and sell Pet Fancy Rats and she said customers would love some hammocks. So ... a little business? We'll see.

Would love a mostly handmade Christmas for 2017. will have to ponder on that. Dniece was here on the 1st and I gave her my ensemble I crocheted (handwarmers, slouchy hat, and infinity scarf).. she fell in love with it when she saw it. :) I'm happy and she wanted me to show her how to crochet. Unfortunately she lives too far away but I told her to go on youtube and to ask mom.
I also gave away about 10 balls of wool (from the stash that had been given me by a coworker).
I'll be working on my boot cuffs this week.

With DD here last week, I didn't get any crocheting done. This week I still want to make the fingerless gloves and work on my winter afghan. I saw the 365 days of granny squares on pinterest, so I will begin that project. Crocheting relaxes me - I just love to do it.

My first thing to do with crafting is organizing what I have this week with the hope of doing many of my UFOs sitting in a picnic basket waiting for me. Dgd 5 is having a birthday in April so will need to think of something for her.

This morning I went with a friend to Sew Fun. I got another idea for a quilt ‘cause I need new ideas. LOL Then we stopped at Hobby Lobby for me to return some yarn that I didn’t need, then to Michael’s to return some more yarn. Michael’s had a sale on some yarn that I liked for the last prayer shawl I made which was on sale 2 for 1, so I got 4 of those and some cotton yarn for dishcloths. With my return, they owed me 25 cents.

I decided to re-design the “I” for J-U-L-I-A, so I think I have that done. I’ll have to sew it out and see how I like it.

I’m going to work on the casserole cover this afternoon, too.

You are all off to a terrific start.
I need to get into my spare room and tidy it up so that I can then get the craft cupboard organised so that I can start crafting. LOL.

I bought my yarn for the fingerless gloves - it's a dark gray. I told my sister what I was going to make, and she asked, "Why?" I told her a lot of ladies wear them, and I want some too. Then she thought it sounded like a good idea - I have a feeling I'll be making her a pair too.

My crafting goal for this week is to get the kids to work on their "Goals" pages for the New Year and for myself, to continue working on my planner. I would like to decorate it a week ahead so that it's ready and i'm always ahead on it. I may sit down and do a month at a time at the beginning of each month, we'll see.

I need to find something to make my mom for her birthday at the end of the month.

Lana, my DD has a dolls cot that she has had since she was born. Somewhere along the line she has lost the bedding for it. I am thinking of making a quilt, sheets and pillow cases for it at some stage this year.

Jampss, nice list.

I cut out 3 bibs and the batting last night.

Think I will take the stuff and cut out a teddy bear I want to try and then see how they work up and ask the fire department if they would want any to hand out if needed.

Greetings:

Jampss ~ I think it’s great to be able to pull up an old list and update it. You have some nice projects there. Some of the links don’t seem to work for me. Have you checked them or printed out instructions/patterns?

Lana ~ I love the teddy bear idea. I hope they turn out cute and are useful to the fire department.

The new "I" for the growth chart looks good except that it's a smidgen smaller than the other letters, so I've enlarged it a bit and will stitch it out yet again.

I'm making a casserole carrier (wedding gift) with a piece of fabric from my stash that is too small, so I’m piecing it with some other fabric. Then I ended up cutting it wrong, so I’m adding a “design element” by re-cutting it so I can still use it. Finally, I have one of the two pieces sewn together and turned. I’ll do that to the other piece today. Then I need to stitch the openings closed and do a little quilting to keep the layers together, make a tab to hold the handles together and it will be done. I need to finish it by Saturday.

The first Valentine CCS motif is coming along, too. I have one more small leaf to stitch and then some backstitching.

And I did some knitting on a prayer shawl during the Sew Fun presentation yesterday.
