I hope to gather the items I need for making my CIJ ornaments and start on those. I also need to cut out the apron and chef hat I plan to make for DD(8)'s birthday in April.

I have finished knitting coat hanger covers so will sew them up this week. Not sure what to move onto but probably more knitting as I have a lot on my list this year.

I was able to redo my Easter wreath that broke when I dropped it last year! :)

Also have put in a lot of work on prepping/cutting binder tabs for recipe binder project. Ready to sit down and assemble! Hoping to work on that tomorrow night!

Prepped 3 more ornament kits and am about 50% done with one of them...

Finished up a couple more:

I love your wreath! The ornaments are adorable too!

I love the Easter wreath. My have to make Dgd(8) a Harry Potter. Can you tell me what kind of felt you use and where you purchase it. I have a lot of patterns that require felt.

I'm going to put away the started pink baby blanket until I get the blue blanket done, since dgs is having a boy. I've tried all day to get the blue blanket started, but life has gotten in the way. Hopefully things will quiet down in the next hour or so and I can get my starting chain done and a few rows crocheted. Before I know it, it will be July and the baby will be here.

Thanks! :) When it comes to ornaments I don't worry too much about the type of felt - since they will only be handled two times a year - putting on the tree and taking off - the chance of pilling is low. So I use regular cheap acrylic felt that you can get at any craft store.

I mainly buy from Joanns or Hobby Lobby. The precut sheets or sometimes I'll buy it by the yard depending on the project.

IF I am making something I know will get touched a lot - toys or journal covers, whatever - then I use wool blend felt.

Our last local store that sold it closed so I've been ordering from Prairie Woolens

https://prairiewoolens.com/

Have ordered several times, no issues, decent prices and the product is great!

I've finally made a decent amount of progress on the recipe binder I am making for a friend's birthday in April!

Front cover done as well as two of the divider tabs and a couple extras. I'm having a lot of fun with this project!!!

Front Cover:

Decorative Element #1:

I'm going to add something to the other side of it too - just haven't decided exactly yet!

Appetizers Divider Tab:

Decorative Element #2:

Bread Divider Tab:

LOTS of work left to do! I want that really complex look with lots of elements, ribbons, paperclips, quotes, etc. and that takes TIME! Each piece is a mini project!

My plan is to document everything so that I can duplicate the entire binder a couple of more times (with minor tweaks) for DMIL and DSIL for this Christmas!

Thanks AJ. Yours look so good I thought you were using the wool felt on your ornaments. I shall give some a try and see how they work.

AJ~Wonderful recipe binder and so nice to be able to put the extra time in and then recreate it for other gifts.

I managed to get my embroidery machine threaded and rethreaded numerous times with one hand and finished stitching the Valentine ornament I had started before my surgery. The final finishing work will have to wait till I have the use of my other hand.

AJ, what a lovely gift!
I spent yesterday transferring all the edge to edge quilting designs from the disks to my stick. I also got the patterns stitched out for the templates that I will be using for my quilts and tree skirt. I still have some embroidery patterns from embroidery library that I need to load on my sticks, not sure when I’ll get to that.
I might get started quilting the snow man quilt tomorrow unless husband I go play.

What gorgeous work every one is doing.
I have started knitting a red and white striped cushion for Mum, I will knit a green ribbon to make it look like a bow.

Finally started to quilt today. Took 4 hours to quilt one long row. I had my self confused at one point trying to line up the pattern. At the end of the row is a half hoop and for some reason there are some skipped stitches. I’ll rip that out at some point and re stitch. I’m sure tomorrow will move a little faster. All it is now is connect the dots basically.
Does any one use the magnetic hoops? Everywhere I read says they make it so easy to hoop. Was wondering if they are worth the investment and if they really are faster once you pass the learning curve??

Greetings!

Myron's Mom ~ We may be the only ones that do machine embroidery. I don't have any experience with magnetic hoops. At some point, though, I'd like to try some small quilt blocks to be joined with a quilt-as-you-go technique.

I have two more Valentine ornaments stitched out. Three more to go. In between numerous thread changes, I got the bobbins for two of my machines marked with colored stickers to more easily identify which machine they are for.

I've also updated my blog with most of my finished craft projects so far this year.
