for those who have home depots... the kitchen dept has the laminate sample chips (like paint chip samples) but they have big ones too now. they would make great elf size chalk boards. all you'd have to do is buy the chalk board paint and cover them with it...

Please check with your Home Depot first. I know I was shocked when we were rebuilding our home and there was a charge for those samples. If I remember correctly the larger ones were over $1 each.

no charge at my home depot, they do have samples that they charge for but they keep them in a different spot and I "think" they may have prices on them.
