Have just finished Home Front by Kristin Hannah.
A very sad story but a good read, I enjoyed it. I will try and order more books by her.

Have those of you reading The Nightingale read other books by Kristin Hannah? She's a Northwest author, which I my neck of the woods, and I've enjoyed every book of hers that I've read. I haven't read them all, because I'm trying to space them out a bit. Anyway, if/while you're waiting for The Nightingale, you might be interest in trying one of her other books.

I have read FIREFLY LANE which I loved!!!

I am reading Simple Gifts by Lori Copland. I am finding it hard going at the moment.
But will persevere.

This year my goal is to read some old books that I have had for years and never read.
I've read the first 3 and started on 4 of the Chronicles of Narnia.
Watership Down (reading this one now) and Tales from Watership Down
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (the play, I got this for Christmas)
Gone With the Wind
Pride and Prejudice
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (read book 1 and never read 2 and 3)

Great list JeniferDwn.
I often think that I should sit and read the "classics".
To Kill a Mockingbird
Picnic at Hanging Rock
Tom Sawyer

I read so many abridged versions of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn when I was younger, but I don't think I've ever read the unabridged versions. Guess I gotta add those 2 to my list. I've read To Kill a Mockingbird probably 10 times. My daughter is studying that book this semester in school. Never heard of Picnic at Hanging Rock. I'll check that out.
Of course in between these, I'll sneak in some Debbie MaComber! I love her books!!!

I usually read Gone with the Wind once a year but have stopped these past few years. I have a copy my grandmother gave my Dad. I've ordered the DVD of Picnic at Hanging Rock since our libraries didn't have the book.

Picnic at Hanging Rock would be more of an Australian Classic. I have seen the movie, which was released many years ago, but have never read the book.

I finished The Nightingale today - it was intense and real and wonderful.

I will be reading more of this author's books for sure!

I like the Nightingale too. I did watch Picnic at Hanging Rock. I think I should read the book. I think maybe there was a lot left out of the movie.

I'm finishing up A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron. Very good book that is making me think about how my dogs think and wonder if they are thinking like the dog in the book. We'll see the movie next, even if it's only me and DD. I have a very large book to read next, a new one by Brunonia Barry called The Fifth Petal.

We did this at our spouse event I attended - I think it was called Blind Date Bingo. Everyone brought a book, wrapped in brown paper, and with five words on the front as a teaser. We played Bingo and when someone won a game, they got to pick a book. I think there was stealing involved too. It was a lot of fun.

I was afraid this would make me cry, but it was written in such a sweet way until you hope your pups think and feel that same way and their passing is as peaceful.
I want to see the movie. there was a lot of controversy about the way the trainer handled the dogs. I never heard what came of it though.
