So as some of you may recall I recently did a THOROUGH clean and organize of my craft room. As I went through it all I happened to come upon a stack of old magazines DMIL gave me a long time ago.

Look at these beauties!!!!

Does anyone else remember these???

The issues I have are from 1994, 1996 and 1999...then I have some non holiday ones too. I just get a kick out of reading them - and truly - for all that they are over 20 years old I am STILL finding things in them to make me laugh, cry or say OOoooh - I need to try that! :D

There are no real advertisements and the paper they are made of is nice and thick too - very different from most magazines now.

Does anyone else have old copies they've tucked away? I wish there was a good way to share them - maybe digitally somehow? Not sure how that would work - or if anyone would even be interested.

I'll leave you will my favorite reader's tip...

Need a warm place to let the bread dough rise? Put it to bed. On your heated waterbed!!!!! LOL I cry!!!!

That is a great find! I love to look through older things like that. They have hidden treasures in them for sure.

How amazing are they? I get very nostalgic when I see things like this.
I can just imagine putting the bread dough in the water bed, how funny

I have those 2 Country Woman issues and I think the Crafting Tradition one.

I had always liked the hair on the cover of the 1st one. I had been getting Country Woman since the mid 80s and a few years back I let the issues go but kept the Christmas ones or if not the whole issue went thru and took out alot.

Love the older Christmas magazines. Definitely better paper quality and more real life ideas and suggestions.

That last line made me laugh so hard I spit out my coffee. Thank you, I needed that laugh this morning!

As for sharing them, digitally or otherwise, please know that they are still under copyright and it would be a violation of copyright law to share their content (entirely, or as significant excerpts) without the publisher's permission. That is one of the "hats" I wore (Rights & Permissions) when I worked full time for an educational publisher. Just want to keep everyone safe from litigation. Sorry ... I consider you all my digital friends and I don't want to see anyone in hot water -- especially as the holidays approach.

I have a collection of Christmas-themed non-fiction that gets set bedside or table-side in my family room, as holiday decor. These might make nice display items, as well.
