Here we go, a challenge for the new year. My goal for 2020 was 24 books and I read 48! I think I'm going to use that figure for 2021 so 48 books it is. In addition to the goal of reading more, my secondary goal is to track more. I had to go back and compare my posts in the 20+ in 20 thread to my Goodreads reading challenge and found I was missing books in both categories. It's all reconciled now so I plan to make sure that I update Goodreads and this thread consistently. What are your goals for 2021?

I found it hard to read 20 books in 2020. A combination of not as much time and too many electronics. I am finding that looking at Facebook, etc is taking up too much time. I need to get back into reading before bed. The benefits are obvious to me so that will be one of my goals for 2021.
I will make a personal goal to read 10 books in 2021.

Well, I will have read 19 books in 2020 if I finish the one I'm reading before the end of the year. It's possible, but maybe not probable. I really only read for a few minutes when I go to bed, and then I fall asleep. My goal in 2021 is to spend more time in the evenings reading instead of being on the computer. It will take willpower, and then the reading will make me fall asleep, so not sure how it will work out. I read strictly for enjoyment, so it's doubtful that it would enhance my pleasure to put undue pressure on myself to read "x" number of books. There's quite enough pressure already, knowing that I don't have the life expectancy to read all the books I would like to read. LOL

My Goodreads shows 50 books read and that's because one book isn't on there for me to add. So i've read 51 and am reading 52 now and will finish it by the end of the year. My goal for next year will remain 50.

My goal for 2020 was 50 books and I just finished my 50th this week, started my 51st Friday. So I'll keep the same goal of 50 this year too.

My goal was 17 books for 2020. I exceeded it due to the shut down in our state. However, my reading time went down drastically once September hit with school starting and the holiday cleaning plans starting then too. I'm going to keep it at 17. That averages out to be one book every three weeks for me.

Mary, a think that 17 is a very achievable goal. I read a book about every 3 weeks so I might find my total increases a little.

My goal was 24 books and I only got to 11. I read like crazy and then just stopped for a few months.
I would like to do 21 in 21. We will see!! This may be a stretch since I only did 1/2 of that this year.
I also would like to do 3 plays and explore some poetry.

My goal was 20 in 20 and I went over that by a few. If I could all of the children's lit I've read, I'd be at 100. LOL I read at least 1 story, if not more every school day. By the time I get home I no longer want to read.

I'm going to try to get to 25 books or more in 2021.

I have not really ever set a goal for a total of books to read in a year, but I do enjoy reading. Since the library has closed down I have not read any books. Just this past Wednesday I did order some. Said they were shipping but don't know how long it takes. Local library is not open so guess they will call when they come in. A couple gardening, sewing and some decluttering so not really book books.

I believe I did 50 not counting cookbooks.

I don't track them on GoodReads so I have to rely on what I write down and remember. Will try and do better this year in the writing down department.

I use the "What are you reading right now" thread to keep track of what I have read. I expect someone will start a 2021 thread. ??

I challenge myself on Goodreads to read 24 in 2020. I know I read more than that but for some reason they're not showing. So this year I am going to keep my own list.

I hope to read at least 24 in 2021

So far I've read:
1. The Quilters Apprentice by Jennifer Chiaverini

I'd like to join in. I'd like to read a book a week, but I'll be realistic and say 50. I prefer books with covers and pages, but with the library closed most of the time these days I've been reading library books on my phone and now my tablet.

So...1/50 completed The Candy Cane Caper by Josi S. Kilpack
