Asia has a smaller number of Christians and Catholics so in many countries Christmas is more secular than religious. Most of Asia does not recognize Christmas as a public holiday so schools and banks remain open.

On Christmas Eve, cannons are let off and youngsters are known to stay up all night setting off fireworks. A full roasted pig is featured at holiday gatherings.
