Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite times of year. I was glad when the stores decided to stop opening on Thursday evenings. I don't like how Thanksgiving was being pushed out by Christmas creep, even though I love Christmas. It's a time to relax and enjoy family for me.

Me too. I love relaxing Thanksgiving night after everyone has left with a Christmas movie.

OMG!

Found out we will be heading up to Syracuse again for Thanksgiving with DSIL, DBIL and DMIL.

In a way, it's a nice break as we get to stay at a nice hotel and don't have to worry about cleaning up, etc., but I still like doing Thanksgiving at home.

Debbie, can you do a mini Thanksgiving another day that week? Or is there a particular dish that you like to make?

Mary, this is a great idea. A mini get together sounds like such fun.

I might do something around Christmas with turkey and all. I love all the starches - potatoes, corn.......

I would love dishes/serving ware that is more seasonal. I only have 1 set of dinnerware that I use all year around. I have neither the space nor budget for more.
