Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey
Self-Help (I guess-not sure of a category)
I've had this book for a couple years now, my dad got it for me, so I finally decided to crack it open. I pretty much skimmed the entire first half to get to the meat of the book. We don't do credit cards or anything like that and aren't in a lot of debt so I found the first half to be unnecessary reading for me. There are some good principles here that I am going to apply and see what happens. The Debt Snowball will be the biggest takeaway to payoff what little we do owe on one vehicle and my motorcycle and writing out a budget every month because I don't currently do that. We don't live paycheck to paycheck either, but starting to have a budget will be helpful to prepare for retirement in the coming years. I believe USAA will actually help with that by doing a breakdown of where our money goes so I can see how much goes to what. I'll have to delve into our account and see if it actually does that. Would be great if so. I keep a monthly record of bills and how much they are every month for the past several years in an Excel document. Anyway, looking forward to getting started on this project and will add time in my planner for it.
