Not offended at all, and i'm a good witch. :-D There's no such thing as a bad witch. If you're bad, you aren't really a witch.

Good! I agree with you. After I wrote that post, I suddenly thought, well, I hope she has a sense of humor, and realises that I'm quoting the oft-quoted line from The Wizard of Oz, and not just being rude! You must be our resident expert on solstice celebrations. I'll bet you have some interesting suggestions for celebrating spring. Have you posted them here on another thread?

MrsSoup:

Do you know Zsuzsanna E. Budapest?
She wrote several books about wicca and so on. One of her most famous books (in my
opinion) is "The Holy Book of Woman's Mysteries" published in the 1980ies.

Already my mum owned this book and I read it the first time, when I was 14 years old...

Chilli~ I have not heard of her, but i'll look her up.

Christmas Rose~ I don't know about resident expert. LOL I've seriously pushed aside my path for a long while now and this year my goal is to get back into it and start learning again. Thus the reason for all the books in my list. I have done some Spring celebrations. And I have a great book about rituals. Are you wanting something specific?

No, thanks, nothing in particular, Mrs Soup. I just thought you might have some special ways of decorating or celebrating the season that might be of interest to us traditionalists, and I thought I might've missed your posts about it elsewhere on this site. crazyhop

The book I mentioned is very difficult to get, as (as far as I know) it will not be printed anymore.
But you will maybe find it at ebay (I bought my exemplar there) or in second hand bookshops.

And if you are also interested in matriarchy research and female symbols of fertileness, I can also recommend you books from Marija Gimbutas (eg "The Language of the Goddess" or "The Civilization of the Goddess"): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marija_Gimbutas

There used to be a concept of "summer reading". Exciting, delightful reading for pure pleasur4e. Usually recommended by word of mouth from friend to friend. Thank you for this thread, MrsSoup!

In case fellow bookworms out there are interested, you can organize your book lists virtually with sites like these:

LibraryThing

Shelfari

GuruLib (movies, games, etc, too)

Or you can make "wish lists" in sites like Amazon.

You can set your lists to private, too. :rain:

And you don't have to join in order to browse those sites for recommendations.
