Wow! We've been working this plan for two months now. This week our focus is on the kitchen.

What do you want to accomplish this week?

Household Checklist:

  • Clean, declutter, organize kitchen cabinets.
  • Home preparedness check. I did this in August for hurricane season. I'll recheck the supply stock.

  • Decorate for Thanksgiving.
  • Organize holiday recipes. DONE
  • Plan Thanksgiving menus.
  • Make a note on the calendar to pick up Thanksgiving turkey after Nov. 15th.
  • Plan holiday baking. DONE
  • Check to see if we have enough freezer bags, aluminum foil, parchment paper, waxed paper and plastic wrap.
  • Check for serving utensils and tablecloths.
  • Look for Citron at grocery store.

Still to do:

  • Write out Christmas cards.
  • Order gifts during upcoming sales. Buy in person if possible. DONE

I did a status check and overall, I feel like things are falling into place. Because Black Friday sales are being spread out through November due to the coronavirus, I've been focusing my time on setting up a game plan and checking out prices, etc. earlier than I normally do. That's been difficult to adjust to doing. I'm usually focusing on making side dishes this week. Those will probably get done next week.

I have most of the dry mixes for the cookies assembled. I plan on doing the baking in December. There are tentative dates put on the calendar for that.

The cards are going to be done when I'm watching TV. I just need to sign them and put a short note in a few of them.

I changed my mind on what I am giving for gifts this Thanksgiving to the service people. I typically buy a consumable food gift like coffee, tea, cookies, etc. This year, I'm giving cloth masks. I bought some locally made ones for the women and ordered some "manly" looking ones for the men. I started to wrap the gifts I bought locally. I'll wrap the rest as they arrive next week.

Nice idea. A new mask can be a nice change.

I fell a little bit behind with this week's tasks. Shoveling snow has been the priority the last two days, but managed to finish things up this evening.

DD and I went through our baking list and realized that there are only 3 things that we really enjoy. So, we have decided that those 3 treats are all that we will make. What a time & budget saver this will be.
