This week's list will keep me busy! The refrigerator shouldn't be so bad since I keep up with it throughout the year but the freezer... It hasn't been dealt with since this time last year. And on cue, I'm getting nervous about getting everything done for Thanksgiving in the next two weeks. I've been lowering my expectations since the pandemic began but I still get a pit in my stomach just thinking about getting it all done by then.

Household Checklist
  • Clean out the refrigerator.
  • Clean out the freezer.
  • Clean out the pantry.

Holiday Prep Checklist
  • Start a freezer inventory.
  • Inventory the pantry and spices.
  • Review recipes and make a shopping list.
  • Eat from the freezer and pantry this week.
  • Stock up on seasonal staples.
  • Stockpile freezer meals.
  • Check out cooking equipment.
Still to do:
  • Christmas Cards
  • DIY gifts Started

Mary, hang in there, you will be OK. You are one of the most organised people I know.

This is the week I need. DH and I will be cleaning out the freezers over the weekend. I need to take inventory of the stockpile. It is full with both Christmas and Summer foods and the supplies for a day I am hosting at the start of December. Phew, a bit of a mess.

And then the dog died. :(. Cancer. Only 7 years old. It's been a rough week.

Much has been going on with DS too. So many activities. They are wrapping up tonight though and I feel like a tornado has just been through. My focus this week is to just regroup. I have much to do. Many balls have been dropped here. It will be okay and I'll catch up. My priorities sure are different this year. I need to deal with the freezer and winter supplies also. At least DH almost has the heater up and running. The wood stove has really been earning its keep.

So sorry about your dog.:( There is always something, isn't there?

This week I just focused on what things I wanted to get done. Some of it was from the lists but most of it was just stuff that I like and energizes me. I did not feel guilty. That was the best thing I could have done.

My two freezers, refrigerator and pantry are looking just wonderful! I rethought how I use the upstairs freezer since family dynamics have changed over the last year. We've been eating out the freezer this week. I have to make freezer space for side dishes that I'm making next week.
