Pamela, you are doing so well with your reading list. Do you order your books from the library? Where do you source them from?

I have a Goodreads account (it's free) so I get a monthly e-mail of the new books coming out that month - typically about five books in each genre and I usually skip right to Historical Fiction as it is my favorite. When I go to a bookstore, I take a quick photo of the cover of books that interest me and I also get recommendations from some of the bloggers I follow who have similar tastes in books. I use all of these sources to add the titles to my Goodreads account (there's also an app for your phone) when I get home. Then I use the list from Goodreads to request books from my local library. There are long waiting lists for the newer releases but I also have a long enough list of not-so-new books I want to read as well so I have a steady stream coming in at the library.

Goodreads lets me track what I want to read, what I've read, and what I'm currently reading and because I'm in their annual reading challenge, all books marked READ in 2021 go over to that page and I can print out a collage to put up on my blog (I do a quarterly recap of what I've read in that quarter).

I looked over the list of the 18 books I've read so far and they include 7 from the library, 3 I received for Christmas, 7 I shopped from my bookshelves, and 1 that I listened to as an audiobook. I have quite a few new books on my bookshelves as well as some titles I have not read for a long time but would enjoy re-reading - these books come in handy when I've finished a library book and am waiting for a new one to be available.

Thank you. I am looking at different options as my library does not stock all the books that I am interested in reading. I do the same as you. If I see a book in a shop I will take a photo and then try and order it later. Saves me money for sure.

I got a bunch of mystery books for Christmas but didn't have time to read but a couple of booka until Easter Break. I made up for lost time but forgot to mention it here. For my Austen book club we usually do a deep dive of a book and take 10 months to read it. Since we're all at home and have limited activities going on, we've had more time to read an Austen related book. We've been reading 2 books in 10 months.

2/17 The Lost Ancestor - Nathan Dylan Goodwin
3/17 The Orange Lilies - Nathan Dylan Goodwin
4/17 The Spyglass File - Nathan Dylan Goodwin
5/17 The American Ground - Nathan Dylan Goodwin
6/17 The Chester Creek Murders - Nathan Dylan Goodwin
7/17 Jane Austen at Home - Lucy Worsely

OH my goodness, y'all. I have just finished reading the book I started back in January.
I was only picking up my book on the weekends.
I have been in a reading slump!
But the evenings are gorgeous and I started back my habit of sitting in the back yard with my cat, Chloe, while I read.

The Book was: This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger.

On to book #2! LOL

10/10 A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. I love this movie but first time I had read the book.

I set my self a challenge of 10 books this year after a horrible reading year in 2020. Pleased that I have achieved on goal for this year.
