Time for an update - the event is this Friday:
( ) Check the mini-desserts selection at Whole Foods (I'm definitely a Semi-Homemade hostess, whatever saves time is a bonus for me!) - will pick these up Friday morning, they always have a good selection, haven't had time to go and see ahead of time
( x ) Decide on bread (since I can't get Pepperidge Farm Very Thin White and Wheat here in Washington, I need to explore other options) - Decided to go with a local brand that's thin-sliced - not quite as thin as Pepperidge Farm but thin enough.
( x x x ) Taste-test mini scones:
( x ) Scone option 1: Starbucks (vanilla, delicious but frosted, $1.55 each)
( x ) Scone option 2: Panera (bag of 6 blueberry and 3 orange $8.99, a strong contender)
( - ) Scone option 3: Try a recipe if I have time - no time but the British foods store got in a new shipment so I picked some up there - will defrost them Friday morning and warm them up before the event
( x ) Order another Lenox Holiday two-tier server
( x ) Server option 1: Amazon
( - ) Server option 2: Lenox (15% off coupon but check shipping cost)
( x ) Decide on centerpiece - ordered Teleflora's Joyous Christmas Centerpiece which has candles in it
( - ) Order candles and candlesticks from Amazon - using votives I have at home
( x ) Pick up mini Bonne Maman jams and jars of clotted cream from World Market
( x ) Check supply of tiny spoons for jam and cream
( ) Look for festive top to wear ( x ) found one, but haven't ordered it yet ( - ) ordered it
( - ) arrived, keeping it - decided to go with something from my closet
( x ) Decide on napkin fold - sticking with a classic, photo below (less blurry if you click on it)
( - ) Make manicure appointment - no time (ugh, the story of my life right now), going to do my own
