With March right around the corner, I always think about an area of focus I want to concentrate on for that month.
February I did: Finance Focus February.
For March I am feeling the pull to reign things in with my health habits.
The holidays are way over now, Superbowl over, Olympics over.

I'm feeling the need to focus on:
A consistent bed time
Drinking water
MOVING! (Big one. I've been so sedentary)
And getting in more fiber.

Annie, I like the way that you have a monthly focus, finance focus February sounds interesting.

I am trying to keep on track with eating better and drinking more water. My appointment with the diabetic educator was interesting and has given me some ideas.

Well, I think I feel pretty good about H2O, stationary bike, stretching, steps, eating/diet, bed time/sleep. Recently, with my ouchie disc issue, I had to slack off the movement things and so ... it's getting back on track that is always a tuffy for me. But I will!

I am still working out this whole diabetes thing. The GP is saying he can't give me a steroid for my arthritis until I get my diabetes under control. It seems a lot at the moment but I am keen to try and manage both. Getting old is not for weaklings.

Here are my health goals for this week:
* 64 oz of water
* movement- nothing set. Just move. A walk at work preferably.
* Food- Keeping fiber rich foods in mind and on the menu!
* Bed time- 11pm.
This is too late but I have been going to bed much later since the holidays so I am
starting with this time and will work on making it earlier. For right now I just want a consistent time.
And I love to play the game of: Lights out but I lie in bed and scroll on my phone.
Nope- Lights out, phone away. 11pm.

I have been tracking, for fun, my calories and exercise and water on the My Fitness Pal phone app. It amazes me the serving sizes and the calorie counts. I have over eating portions all my life. LOL

I mean, who counts let alone only eats ... 15 Lays potato chips! :p

I'm pretty sure that we all have. I've read that this is something that amazes people throughout the world - how big American portions in restaurants are.

When I went to the steak house a couple weekends back, they had a "petite sirloin."
7 ounces. A serving size is 3 oz. The "petite" was a full 4 ounces over a serving size.
And yet, we call it petite.
Our serving sizes are way too big in the U.S.

I do find when I go to the usa, portions are big. We usually share one portion me and dh. Our small serving is 4 oz, big serve is 7oz.

I tend to over eat too. My diabetic educator said I can have some air popped pop corn as a snack. The portion size is 15grams!

I think what is most needed is............ movement!
I need to pick a program or something via YouTube or My Beach Body on Demand.

A new month is right thank you @AnnieClaus. The first third of the year has past so can no longer use the excuse that I am still getting over Christmas etc.
I am back to the weight I was for DD's wedding so that is good news, need to keep concentrating on moving, water and eating better and more veggies. Simple really. ;)

It takes a bit for the mind to convince the stomach that it is full!

Quite right. I think it may stem from when we were children and we had to clear our plate, I still serve a full plate for dinner. I really need to listen to my stomach more.

It's May!! DD and I are still doing our self care APP called Finch that has fun goals. Since I will be gone mostly at my sister's for the month of May and not home moving and shaking doing chores ... I will have to make sure I don't become a slug eating and binge watching shows all month! LOL

Drinking water
Steps
Eating less or no sugar
I think my sis has a working elliptical ... but I have only seen clothes hanging on it! LOL

May needs to be a good month for me.

I have been eating out a lot due to being so busy socially the last 2 weeks.
I'm really feeling it.
Gross, that is.
Time to dial it back, get back to simple meals. Not so many naughty snacks (chips).
