Thanks for sharing. I do think that there is something neat about receiving a note and seeing someone's handwriting. It makes me happy.

When it came time to write thank you notes to the volunteers that helped with the festival I planned one of the committee members wanted to send an email. I said, "No, they need to be handwritten." it was the first time I actually asserted myself as I was not a committee member but in charge of carrying out there plan.

Lucie, it's a bunch of woman who like to send snail mail still and do swaps. The one I belong to happens to be a bunch of woman who love Pioneer Woman. We do some stuff themed on PW, but mostly it's other stuff. For example this month I'm doing a scrapbooking/crafting supply swap. They've done a camping theme, color theme, and a ton of others I can't remember at the moment. We send birthday cards and postcards...and just whatever comes to mind.

It's something on Facebook and they call it "Happy Mail".

And Jody, I agree. Just write a note..How hard is it?

It's amazing how a simple hand written note can turn a Dollar Store card into something special. I feel that it's becoming a lost art with email in our midst.

I make a point to go to the dollar tree to buy cards for all my nieces and nephews. Not fancy, but the little ones love getting their own cards for the holidays. And the little ones who are now big ones love getting them too with their spouses.
