In front of my computer
It is the beginning of a Celebrate me month. I have a whole list of things to do this month. I plan on spending at least 15 minutes in my room each day——working to improve it. Sounds like not a treat but will be. I have put off painting the rest of the baseboards so things like that will get done. Things I want done not someone’s things. For the whole month.

Interesting topic for August's Celebrate Me day. Today is my Celebrate Me Day, and it's also the day I gave birth to my only child 44 years ago. How can that be??? I'm only 39, right???

As part of her birthday gift, I got her a bottle of nail polish in her favorite color, and included a note that it was for the next time we went and got manis and/or pedis. I forgot to put it in her gift bag, but told her about it and commented that I really could use a pedi! And, today this reminder showed up. If not today, sometime soon. It's really needed.

I always see the Macy's commercials about perfume and wish there were one near us... Ulta has a good fragrance selection, though. Maybe I'll try there.

I made a hair appointment for September 10, right before Rosh Hashannah - which begins on September 11 this year, and will get a pedicure as soon as I can manage it when I get home.

It's my "celebrate me" day. While I did not get a new shampoo, body wash, or perfume, pup got a spa day and I took extra time doing my hair this morning (and texted my stylist that I need a new 'do, when can she get me in?). I did notice, though, that I'm just about out of shampoo so I added that to my shopping list.

Don't forget to celebrate on your birth date each month....mine is on the 19th!!
Here are some topics for your Celebrate Me Days:

October: It's Soundtrack of My Life Month (Make a list of songs of your life, burn a CD of them or purchase a favorite CD etc)

It's month 10!! Are we celebrating ourselves well?! I don't think I will be burning a CD ... but I do have fun YouTube playlists of songs! :)

A post for my Celebrate Me day that shares a little more personal information about me. Was thinking about music that is important to me earlier today, before seeing the "theme" for October. I just put on one of my favorite CDs, sat down, and looked at this Thread. I think my angel above was giving me a GodWink.

My late DH (passed on Mother's Day in 2014) and I used to go see folk singer Bonnie Koloc in concert when she played downtown. She often performed with John Prine and Steve Goodman in Chicago's Old Town area, and sometimes with Ed Holstein and other noted folk singers. The last time we saw her in Old Town, George Wendt (Norm on Cheers! ) sat at the table next to ours, sent over a round. A couple of years ago, DD noticed that she was playing in a small intimate venue in SW Michigan and ordered tickets for my birthday. I bought a CD after the concert, as one of her songs really spoke to me that night, one that made me emotional, thinking about stepping away from the "widow" moniker and really start "living" again. The song is available to listen to on YouTube at Roll Away the Grey.

Lovely song.

My BFF and I were recently talking about how certain songs bring back memories about people and events - some good and some not so good.....
