Well, I think I have my menu all figured out for Christmas Dinner:

Prime Rib
Yorkshire Pudding
Baked Sweet Potatoes
Asparagus w/ hollandaise sauce
Sparkling Cranberry Drink
Pecan Pie

I will be making this away from home at my father in law's house as we will be spending Christmas there this year.

Happy to have this settled one less thing to think about. :) ~ Farmerswife

I still have a couple things I need to iron out - but hoping to post the menu soon :)

I know a basic idea of what food I want to serve Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day Brunch - just need to figure out how far along we will be on the renovations - and who we are inviting!

We haven't ironed out plans of where everyone will be for the holidays or when, so this will be something, I'm afraid, will be last minute.

Hi everyone!

My Christmas dinner menu is pretty varied, since we have people with different tastes! There will be a lot of leftovers for Boxing Day though :)

Mains:
Ham (Mum will bring)
Roast Chicken (store bought - DH will cook this)
Leek, Apple & Stilton Wrap (make ahead)
Eggplant Timbale (cold dish - make ahead and keep in the fridge)

Sides:
Stewed Tomato Bake (make ahead)
Parsnip & Chilli soup (make ahead)
Carrots (make in steamer same day)
Corn (make in steamer same day)
Peas (make in steamer same day)
Roast Potatos (make same day - may remove from menu)
Sauerkraut Salad (make ahead)
Fruity Coleslaw (make same day)

Desserts:
Christmas Pudding (Mother in Law will bring)
Pavlova (Mother in Law will bring)
Cardamom, Chocolate & Pear Trifle (make ahead)
Ice-cream Pudding Bites
Cheese Platter (Shop bought, and just arranged on a tray)
Cookies (Gingerbread, Sugar Cookies etc - all make ahead or store bought)

Wow... it looks like really long list. Really though, it's all dead easy and it's only the vegies which will have to be made that day. Everything else just needs to be put in the oven.

So, I have a master shopping list. Most items are already here since I've been shopping ahead with the HGP. I'll need to pick up the fruit/veg and dairy etc today, and then tomorrow I can start the "make ahead" items :)

We did Prime Rib last year. Not sure if we're doing that or ham- a ham from the Honey Baked Ham Company!

On Christmas Eve we do tamales, refried beans, spanish rice.
