I have been trying to do a jewelry art project with my mom's jewelry and just can't get myself to break it apart yet. You need to break the jewelry to create the picture or shape you want. She had lots of nice pieces and so hard for me to "destroy" it. Guess I will lay it aside again until I am ready. I will keep looking at jewelry art for inspiration and one day it will be time.

I did sort the jewelry by color yesterday hoping to be inspired, but I just couldn't take it apart. That may be my next step...separating the parts when I am ready.

Can you change the design so you do not have to break up the pieces? I have always done either Christmas trees or wedding bouquets so I could keep the pieces whole.

That's what I am trying to do. Which is why I set it aside for now. I told DH I should just wear it even if I am home puttering around.

Yes you should. No more using things for only dress up! Dress up every day even in short.

Working on a blanket! DD30 picked out the colors and I am crocheting. (I sent pics of all the yarn to DD ... and there was A LOT!) This yarn was given to me by the daughter of my friend who passed. So, DD and I thought, lets give her a blanket back of the yarn her mom had bought. DD and my friend's daughter have been buddies since kindergarten! My friend has been ill awhile ... heart, kidneys .... she was also Type 1 diabetes since childhood. DD picked bright "beach" theme colors for this blanket. :)

crochet cushion cover is stopped... no more yarn... either change the design or trry to find another ball of yarn.. sigh.

Started a pair of knit socks.
Painted acrylic on watercolor paper.

That's totally understandable, and I agree with the suggestion to wear it.

Another idea, if it's helpful, might be to take pictures of the original jewelry that could then be attached to the back of your new artwork.

Lucie, beautiful painting.
Julianna what a wonderful idea for the blanket I’m sure your friends daughter will love it.
Jody, I wouldn’t be able to break up the jewelry either. I think wearing it is a perfect idea. I wear a lot of my moms.
My cousin came out yesterday and today to work on the clutch for her daughter’s wedding. It turned out really nice! My cousin did most of the work. I just supervised for the most part. We used the lining of my cousins wedding gown and covered it with the lacey sleeve. She was ready to cut up her gown but I found it very painful to make that first cut. I wish now (after thought) that we would have used Decovil instead of the Peltex as stabilizer. I think it would have laid a little better. The picture isn’t all that great, we had just glued the first side of the clasp on. I think the bride will be pretty happy. The pattern is from Pink Sands.

Myron's Mom ~ That is a wonderful bag and keepsake! Is it "something old" or "something new"? LOL

I just worked on a little CCS last night. Daytime hours were kept busy with some long-awaited cleaning chores. Today might be exercise and gardening.

Finally finished with Easter! I’ll wash it and put it away for next year lol. This is the Robin Pickens pattern. I pretty much took care of all the leftover fabric by piecing the back. Happy that I won’t be moving that fabric around anymore.
This weekend I’ll set up to quilt the Christmas quilt that I didn’t have time to finish last year.
