Happy Spring To All!!!!

Starting this alittle earlier tonight. Have to get ready for the trip to hospital and when coming home it will be 11 or after so.....

My hubby is pretty good to shop with. He is patient and will give his opinion at times.

No, crafting or even thinking of it for me this past week and probably not for awhile.

I did buy Teigan some needles for her cross stitching yesterday.

What is on your agenda for this week in the crafting department?

Happy Crafting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lana, hope that things settle down real soon. I will be working on the wedding bunting. I am quite enjoying the quietness of sitting in my craft room just working.

Greetings!

This week I need to focus on starting and finishing Easter cards and April birthday gifts; plus my personal challenge of completing one month’s calendar hangings per week (November this week … nearly done).

Thinking of you Lana and DH .... take it slow this week.

I am working on crocheted ribbed beanies and fingerless mitts to send to DD28 in VT to sell at her farmer's market.

That is a nice thing to do.

Working on ornaments this week. My son’s from the nutcracker fabric is almost done. Will finish the embellishments tomorrow. Will make 3 more to go with gift cards for our nail people and hairdresser.
Hopefully my husband will take a field trip this week so I can work on his quilt.

Nutcracker ornament is done for my son. I’m not sure why but the dark red ribbon looks pink in the photos.

I ordered the remainder of supplies for CIJ ornaments last night. And then I ordered the supplies for next year’s ornaments. I also have 10 yards of fleece in my online shopping cart at Joann - for more piggie mats. I guess I should press that place order button. Still crocheting ditzy daisy granny squares. I sure miss my craft room - it was so relaxing to work in there.

Dahlia, I’m happy to share!
This is a variation of the snow globe pattern from the Ornament Girl. I think this is the 3rd I’ve made with this pattern. All you need is a Styrofoam ball ,pins and fabric.

I used a oval design instead of a circle as Stacey does in the video to work with the nutcracker. I found a Etsy shop that sells templates that helped me center my design on the ball. I’ll have to dig up the info for that Etsy shop. I used the “poles” on the ball to help center my designs.
The embellishments are all from the thrift shop. You can find great crafting stuff there for practically nothing.

Stacy “eyeballs” it in the video. I found using a pin to mark the center of the design helps me keep it centered. You can measure off that pin to keep the first row of fabric even.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the ornament info. I've see those ornaments before but not with a fussy-cut center. I like that effect. I might choose to try a falt one though, more like a "coaster". Or I might not get to it at all. LOL I'm thinking it might also be a way to turn a mini cross stitch into an ornament, too. Still brainstorming...

I learned to make this paw print granny square. It's in cotton. I think I will make a few and put them together to make a market bag for DS17's Life Coach.

Also, for my birthday, DD28 in VT mailed me a fun gift from a yarn Etsy shop! I received two skein coats, a cute project bag, and a kitty stitch marker. DH and DS17 gave me chocolate and we had Italian pick up dinner. YUM.

Love the paw print! Sounds like you had a lovely birthday! And Happy Birthday!!!!

I found the link for the Etsy shop. I wish the templates were a bit less stiff but the were a big help in centering the design. Not mention you get a ton of different sizes.

My cousin Anna did a photo ornament on a “half hemi “ ball that she got from the ornament girl. It’s a little easier option. I’ve seen cross stitch ones too.
