AND here we are-----entering into the 12th month---again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have decided to make some of the small rice bags for people for Christmas out of the 5" squares. Jaymee did large ones before. (quite a few years back) Have about 20 or so sewn but have to add the rice and sew top closed. That will be it for this year for sewing.

Told Teigan this a.m. that when she comes back from her dads the next time that then we will do the seasoning salt and lotion. Would like to do a few of those potpourri bags Lucie shared. Will see. She will go this Thursday and then back home the next Wednesday. (12-6)

Also need to order vanilla beans so can start vanilla for '23 Christmas. I try to do it every other year. I like it to sit for close to a year.

Any last minute items you have decided to do?????

Greetings!

I'll probably be spending a lot of time this week decorating. I need to put my mind to final decisions on gifts and think about wrapping up what I've got. Crafting may be limited to CCS in the evening, but I'd definitely like to get a little something accomplished in the studio. Hope to get my fall Tree of Life wall hanging at least sandwiched.

I hope everyone is in good shape for Christmas gift crafting.

I have been very disappointed with how things have gone on the crafting front this year. Not all is lost, I will start fresh again next year.

Katrina I know how you feel about crafting this year.. I am usually done by now but between my sewing machine being in the repair shop for three months(ended up having to buy a new one) and Covid knocking me out for about a month I am way behind. May be crafting right up to the last minute.

Will be still working on the quilt and some knitting.

Will finish decorating the house this week.
Husband helped with the snowman arms I needed to finish a gift. Poor choice on wire we decided. He had some difficulties too.
I want to make 2 quilted ornaments yet for gifts. Have the photos on fabric, just need to sit down and do them.
Seems to be a off year for crafting here to. Don’t feel like I’ve gotten much done. I still haven’t finished the fall quilt I wanted done by thanksgiving. I still have a Christmas quilt I wanted to make with fabric I bought at Jo’s maybe 10 years ago. The fabric and pattern are just sitting there……

Since Christmas is done at my house I hope to start the makings of a Raggedy Anne/Andy doll for the grandbaby to be born in January. Since we don't know the sex of the baby I can get the body made and make a set of clothes for either sex. I would also like to get my embroidery out and try to finish it over the winter months.

As I renew my crochet skills, things are taking a LOT longer than I had expected. Ideally, I'd like to complete 10-12 bookmarks in the next week, for gifting to members of my book group. Doubt that will happen with all that's on the calendar this week. Have just started setting out holiday decor and half the lights on the Christmas tree are not working. It's like a candy cane! Bottom tier is lit, next section is not, bottom tier of section 2 is lit but not the one above that, and neigher the bottom nor the top of the 3rd (top) section are lit -- it's lit - unlit stripes all the way up the tree! So frustrating!!!! Need to call the store and find out about the warranty and how to troubleshoot this. So, trying to fit in some crafting time is going to be tough.

I was playing around with crocheting myself a pair of tube socks with yarn from my stash.

Nope, nothing on the crafting front. No time for it but I think January would be a good crafting month... cold, and nowhere to go... perfect!

Lori ~ At least crocheting is faster than knitting! How's it going?

I'm making good progress here. I've started quilting a fall chenille wall hanging and have my Tree of Life wall hanging sandwiched and ready to quilt. I also made a couple of pet beds by stuffing pillowcases with fabric scraps. They will be donated to a local animal shelter.

I'd like to get started on the February pillowcase for Valentin. I need to check what I need for the rest of the monthly pillowcases. I have main fabrics for most of them.

I might try getting my embroidery machine cranking out some snowflakes for Kathy.

Finished one ornament have the other started. Sorry you can’t see the cute little face on the ornament, He is not mine to show off. My finger is sore from shoving pins, going to take the rest of today off. Why does my sewing room always look like a bomb went off. I have a major mess again but I know where everything is lol.

Remember the cutting boards I made?

I finished them up with a bow and a small clothespin, attached a small gift bag with two cookies and used it as a favor at our camping club holiday party.

Now I realize I should have painted the backs too.

Debbie ~ Those are very nice. Are they to be used for decoration or actually used as cutting boards? What did you cover them with? So pretty and the cookies really set them off as a gift.

Thank you.

Covered with decoupaged napkins. Should be used only for decoration although you could, of course, put wrapped foods on it.
