Easter 2026

Easter Sunday this year is Sunday April 5th, a little earlier than 2025.

I have been lucky enough to have found a few items for in the Easter baskets that I do for my family. We don't necessarily like Easter egg chocolate so we look for other treats. It will be getting colder here so I have bought all the ladies slippers and bed socks. I have knitted the boys beanie hats. To that I will add some other treats as I find them, maybe some hot chocolate mix or coffee flavourings.

I'm not sure what we are going to do for Easter. Dd doesn't have any days off for Easter break. Depending on her class schedule, we will have to pick her up either some time Friday or on Saturday morning. We will have to do a big Easter lunch so we can drive her back for classes on Monday. Colleges around us have always given the students off for Good Friday and/or Easter Monday.

We use to do a family basket with a few peanut butter eggs, jelly beans and marshmallow chicks. No one here cares for candy anymore so we stopped doing baskets. I do make roll out cookies in the shape of a cross, eggs, and chicks. I'm not sure if I will do that this year. We had so many cookies left from Christmas. No one is eating sweets around here like they use to eat them.

We will not be hosting extended family for Easter. Depending on the weather that day I may Double smoke a ham or toss some steaks on the grill. If it's raining then I will cook a ham in the oven.

Back from the supermarket. Picked up some rocky road flavoured wafers and some of the instant soup that Mum likes. They will go into Easter parcels which I think I am nearly finished with.

About a month until Easter. I still have to firm plans, not sure what DD and DSonIL are planning. It is a 4 day weekend for them and they often go away.

It is always exciting to decorate for a new season. I need to pull out Easter and decorate.

All decorated for Easter/ spring. Gave my cousin her Easter basket Tuesday. Husband and son bought a bass boat and fishing stuff so they don’t need a thing. Have dinner planned so we are ready.

I will probably be hosting Easter dinner. I'm sure my mom isn't hosting and my brother and his wife have never hosted one holiday dinner. I will probably do a basket for M and Lauren. H will just want chocolates. I'm not sure what to do for the niece and nephews. I may just put Dunkin gc's in eggs with a little treat or two.

I'm not sure what we'll be doing for Easter yet... as ddil is not on speaking terms with her sister this year they won't be coming.. so we could go to sis' if she invites the lot of us...if not they can all come here.. but now we sis, I and 1 brother have grandkids so each might have his own Easter. to be determined.

Lucie, I am also waiting to see where we will be celebrating. I like to know a little ahead of time but DD and DSonIL are always taking until the last minute to decide. It is a good thing that I am flexible.

Must pull out the Easter cards and gift bags today so that I can get ready to send them and fill them.
