When you are looking for recipes for baking, candy, or dishes......look for ones that have some ingredients in common....like pecans, or dried fruit, cream cheese etc...

That way you can save by buying one bag of pecans instead of three bags of different kinds of nuts.

Or by buying the large container of cream cheese. etc.

Most recipes are different enough that if they have a few ingredients in common...they are still "different" tasting....

GB, that is a great tip. When I look at my recipes there is a lot that is common. Sometimes you can even substitute one thing with another if it is more economical. There is no point having lots of half used ingredients in the pantry.

Great tip Ginger. Nuts in particular can be expensive. It makes so much sense to use one kind of nut. I'll be looking at my recipes in a new way this year.
