Gift Closet 2026

Got a few things in my grocery order yesterday. A hair product and toothpaste for my DSonil, some fabric softener for DD. I also got a few things to store in the freezer for baking. Butter was a good price. A little sense of achievement to tick off a few items so early in the year.

My goal is to keep the gift closet tidy (last year it got out of control) so I will find time today to add these items to their boxes.

Got a few specials from the supermarket, all for in Easter baskets. Got mini cans of pineapple and mango juice for Mum and I got white chocolate covered almonds for DH and I. Need to get a bit more yet but Easter is looking OK.

Local Hallmark store had their ornaments at 75% off so I picked up a few more to use as stocking stuffers.

Received an online order yesterday, mainly stocking fillers. Will spend some time today storing them in their boxes and checking things off in the planner. Looking good so far.

Yankee candle on clearance, had kohls cash and a coupon, at kohls for my son.

Bought some scented wardrobe sachets to go with the coathangers I am making for DD.

Went to Hallmark and they had knit hats for three dollars which were $20 so I bought a couple of them for the girls for Christmas and a scarf and then I found my ornament that I never got this year past year of Christmas vacation. I collect all of those so I’m glad they had that..

The nutcracker candle I ordered (1/1) for my son is finally coming today. It got lost in Cleveland at the hub so they resent it.
I went though the gifts I bought lately, updated my lists, gift are boxed ready to wrap and placed in the correct gift closet totes.

I need to keep on top of the gift closet this year. Last year I got a bit lazy and it became a mess with things stored incorrectly. Made it so much harder to keep track of things.

That’s what happen to me starting in September. Everything kinda got away from me.

I ordered a couple things from Amazon. Potholders for my son from the movie Christmas vacation also a doormat for him from the same movie. We all love Christmas vacation movie.. also a jersey from the movie.

I wonder if they have a Christmas story door mat, will have to check for that.
Ordered the Kurt Adler (think that s the correct name) 250th anniversary Santa ornament for my friends and my cousin.

Went to Kohls on my lunch break yesterday and they had an extra 50% off the clearance price sale going on. I found a Christmas puzzle book for me and a Paw Patrol 24 day advent calendar (filled with little toys) for my DGS. I got the advent calendar for $8.50. I showed it to my DD (his mother) and she was excited for it. I also picked up a Red Butter dish that had Merry Christmas in it for $2.50.

I got a few more stocking fillers put away. Just before Christmas I bought a jar of maraschino cherries for $5.00, put them in DB ice cream pack. Saw the same jars on clearance for 65c with a use by date of January 2028 so bought 4 jars and will put them in stockings. I got DD a beach cover up and some sunscreen so another gift for her. Saw some leather wipes and asked DS if he needed some. Yes, so bought those, some shoe polish and a new cleaning brush. Another useful gift.

Everyom is doing great. For me the only thing I have added lately to my gift closetis a skull halloween cookie cutter for dgs April birthday. I need to get busy and start getting some of the yarn in the closet turned into hats.

Another bottle of body wash for our son. Husband bought him something, not sure what but I put it in his bin.
Ordered a lavender mini tool box for my cousin, this one has a handle for carrying. Checking to see if they will have it in green and hot pink. Would like to get one for my 2 friends if they have the right colors.

Grocery shopping yesterday and I found a few more items. Deodorant and a cooking spray for DSONIL for in his stocking. I will do another drinks gift for DH this year as he really enjoyed this from last year. Got some raspberry cordial with a use by date of 2027.
Started to look at items for our motor racing party in October.
