Our grandson loves Lightening Queen and the Cars movie. We just ordered him a new Lightening McQueen winter coat for Christmas. It was marked down 40% off. Also found some Disney and Marvel Chip bag clips at the dollar store. They will be used either for Easter Baskets or as stocking stuffers for the kids.

Speaking to my Mum and she mentioned that she would appreciate a "household items" gift. I will buy a washing basket and fill it with toilet paper, dish washing liquid, paper towel, disinfectant etc. The hardest thing for me will be where to store it all until Christmas, the good thing is I can get most of the items on my fortnightly shopping trips to the supermarket.
Yes I do this every year for my son . He appreciates it .

Got a stocking hat and ear muffs under half price (both came under the price of 1 item full price). I might take the muffs-not sure. From Cracker Barrel.

Lana, some good shopping. The end of seasons often means markdown items. I will check our sunblock, chapstick etc supplies as they are often marked down at the end of Summer.

Back from the supermarket. Picked up some rocky road flavoured wafers and some of the instant soup that Mum likes. They will go into Easter parcels which I think I am nearly finished with.
Got Mum and DSonIL some balsamic vinegar with a use by date of June 2028 and DB a bottle of smokey barbecue sauce with the same use by date. Not sure if I will create a "cooking" gift or just place them in stockings.

I need to refigure where I am going to store the items for Mum's basket. A job for this week which will hopefully avoid a mess towards the end of the year.

Grocery shopping for me. Picked up some washing machine cleaner and toilet cleaner for Mum's basket. I have rearranged the gift closet so I will put them in their place straight away.

Faye, I like items that do double duty, good pick up on the plates. The grinch crockpot sounds interesting.

Bought Mum some clothes pods yesterday for in the household gift.

2 large pks of toilet paper and another multipack of Lysol wipes for son.
I love that you buy your son such useful gifts, he really must appreciate it.
How do you package it all up for him? Do you use a large box or gift bags?

I think it is great idea. My kids really don't need a lot. Their stockings are filled with needs, deodorant, tooth brushes etc. Things to help them out so that they do not have to buy them through the year. They still get one or two little gifts for under the tree but not too much.
