Katrina,
I am sure that with your upcoming move to the farm, you need to be mindful of your household stockpile so you don't have to pack and move it all.
Absolutely.
Most of what is in the stockpile will be used over the next few month. I have items for a get together in October, our family dinner for November, baking, Christmas and NYE. Once those events are over the stockpile should be a lot clearer.

Stockpile chocolate! Just read that the price will not be going down any time soon
Are you talking eating chocolate or cooking chocolate?

They said "chocolate" so I'm assuming all chocolate.
The prices here have risen greatly over the last year or so. DH loves chocolate so I will keep an eye out for good prices due to Halloween and maybe stock up.

I don't need to be told twice to stockpile chocolate ;)
I'm a bit frustrated with planning and listening making at the moment as I'm at a standstill due to DH. He's in Slovakia next week, Germany the week after, and then he's got various things going on until mid November. He doesn't want to hear about Christmas at the moment as he has a lot on, which I get, but it makes it impossible for me to plan things if I don't yet know what we're doing!

Grocery store had plenty of chocolate today. Sugar was another story. I got the last 3 bags of the store brand. There were 6 bags of name brand and that was it. I didn’t see any brown sugar.
With the dock strike they are talking chocolate and sugar may be in short supply and(more) expensive. I imagine it will effect vanilla supply and price too.

Yes, the dock strike is making lots of stuff problematic. My next shopping trip I will stock up on flour, bread flour and sugar. Oddly enough I did fine vanilla on sale at BJ's so bought an extra bottle. I make my own too so I should get some more beans.

I am so tired of disruptions. It has been ongoing since the pandemic in 2020. Always some shortage or supply issue. So frustrating.

Just a few more grocery shops until Christmas. I still have a few more items to purchase but for now am mostly finished.
I do need to reel in the impulse buys but I get so excited when I see some of the amazing items on offer.

I wish I had heeded the stock up on chocolate message. Hershey's kisses are at 5 dollars a bag. I couldn't get over it yesterday. I'm hoping for a sale somewhere soon so I can get what I need for baking. The cost of chocolate chips is crazy too.

Dark brown sugar has been scarce here, too. I just used the last of mine in pumpkin muffins. Hoping I can locate some more in the next week or two.

*re: brown sugar. Have you considered ordering from Walmart to be shipped to your house?

Curious, can it make cola that tastes like coke?
I don't know about coke but they have the actual Pepsi, Pepsi no sugar and Diet Pepsi syrups. if they're not the real syrups they certainly taste like them.

Here, WalMart is less than a mile away. The store pulls product for local delivery, from what I understand, and if it's out of stock they substitute. I'd go in and look myself, since it's so close, but I loathe that store and location.

My Wal-Mart did not have dark brown sugar in the store but I did not think to look online.

Lori- I despise Wal-mart as well. With the prices of everything, I have had to embrace it.
I must go at a good time- Friday evenings. It hasn't been that bad.

Lol, I have to be desperate to go to Walmart and Marc’s. They are both nasty here.
You might try target for your sugar, they surprise me sometimes ( another not my favorite place to shop). Do you have any little mom and pop shops near by? Amazon might have it too.
