While cleaning out my pantry, I found numerous packages of candy melts and almond bark. Most are unopened; those that have been opened are sealed in a Ziplock bag. None of the packages have a "best by" or "use by" date. Anyone know how long these last? They've got to be at least 5 years old. I don't even remember why I bought them, other than the almond bark (maybe for mixed chocolate peanut clusters???). Should I keep or pitch?

I usually pitch that stuff after 2 years. They don’t behave nice when you try to use them after that length of time in my experience. You could open them, do a smell test and nibble on one to see if they taste ok. Then try to use them with a backup plan if they don’t coat nice. I hate to throw stuff away especially these days.
I throw mine out too. I always overbuy it seems and then pitch it by the next year. I have stored it in the freezer and used it within a year.
Thanks, it's gone! If I haven't used it in 5 years, it's unlikely that I will in the next 5. I can use that space for something that will get used.
