This section is what I call "Reference"...for you it might be several sections of your notebook or all in one. It covers things like:

~ Books/Movies/Media - inventory & want to buy
~ Website listings
~ Holiday Traditions
~ Decor Ideas/Inventory
~ Craft Ideas /Inventory

The tasks for this section will vary according to what your reference info in your notebook entails, but the most important thing is to keep it up to date. Did you see an idea in a magazine for your front foyer? Did you watch a movie you want to add to your collection? Did the kids find a website that they adored? See a craft that you think you could try next year? Did you find a new activity that you want to make an annual tradition? Make a note of all the things that inspired you so you don't forget next year.

In front of my computer
This is easy for me. My only decorations are my tree and a few framed pictures I put up. I decided a few years ago I wanted a relaxed Christmas without the pressures of cleaning around Christmas items and the taking them down (the part I hated).

I pack the tree decorations away but leave on the lights. I drag the tree into a closet and put a bag over it (or a sheet) to keep it from getting dusty during storage. It's a lot easier than taking it all apart and putting on all the lights I like, over 800. Now in Nov I'll just drag out the tree. Presto instead Christmas spirit when I turn on the lights.

I got this idea from a lady in NC who kept her tree compete with decorations covered in a spare bedroom during the year. I decided if I ever had the space I'd do the same. I just had to not pack away the decorations since the tree is crammed into a corner of my walk-in closet. I worried I'd break decorations.

Before we moved to our new house, I'd have the guys carry the tree into the basement. They made a lot of noise about it but I told them their choice was to carry up and down the stairs once a year or help me put the tree together.
