Love the idea of leap year boxes. I am going to do this for the first time with my DD2 and DD8. We are going to do the following:
1. Favourite book
2. Favourite film
3. Favourite song
4. Favourite colour
5. Favourite food
6. Favourite drink
7. Favourite toy
8. Favourite clothes / shoes
9. Favourite programme
10. Favourite friends

I also thought about including a variation on a topic I did for my girls memory books when they were born, of topical facts. Such as, who is the monarch, prime minister, average wage, minimum wage, price of 1st class stamp, average house price, car of the year, price of petrol, bread and milk.

I thought I would include trends and fads of 2008, popular tv programmes and toys and this years oscar winners.

We will put in photos and a CD I have burnt of the UK music chart.

Wow, I'm really getting into this one!

I'll get the boys to each draw a picture and we'll include a small something we think the boys might enjoy when they are 4 years older! It will be fun to see how close or how far off we are! Thanks for this idea!

That is an interesting date! They should do one of those boxes! And every 4 years ... see how things change!

Well, we have started bringing things together.
My list of topical facts is for the UK

 Monarch - Queen Elizabeth II
Prime minister - Gordan Brown
Average wage - £38,651.00
Minimum wage - £5.80
Ist class postage stamp -£ 34p
Average house price - £219,591.00
Car of the year - Fiat 500
Price of petrol - £100.01
bread - 59p per loaf
Eggs - £1.28 per half dozen
Milk - 40p per pint

I'm eagerly awaiting the results of tonights oscars!! I also thought I might see if there are any famous people born on the 29th february! We are taking photos of my DD's in their favourite clothes with their favourite toys, books and films. I'm also going to include a family photo of all of us and of their friends. I plan to put every thing into their memory books when we open them in 2012!

I'm going to be without my laptop for the next 2 weeks and will really miss you all! jingle-jo :frown:

Ok, managed to hold onto the lap top for a few more days!!!
Regarding famous people born on29th february, well it would appear they are a bit thin on the ground!

1860 - Herman Hollerith (inventor)
1976 - Ja Rule (pop star)

Anyone know of any others!
