Looks like you are all doing really well on your lists this week.
Feels good to check things off as they are done.

Do any of you do weekly reflections? I've been doing quarterly/seasonal reflections for a while but I think it would benefit me to do weekly reflections along the lines of what worked/didn't work/how to improve. I'm just thinking about other questions to possibly add and then to figure out a time to process it.

Mary, what an interesting idea.
So far this year I am more mindful of things and as always am very reflective at the start of the year. I have a planner full of goals and ideas but never really sit and ponder how my week was. I am sure if I did this I would discover ways of make my weeks flow better.
Thank you for this idea, I will think about implementing this.

Katrina, I'm wondering if doing something weekly would be beneficial in catching things or being more aware of things sooner than later. I think I will give it a try for January through March and than reevaluate it. I'll share what I come up with.

I was thinking that I've been doing a Holiday Prep and Cleaning plan for years and then starting to join you ladies here a couple of years back after the HHP ended in December. It was a natural progression and it's really made a difference especially in 2020 when coronavirus hit. Having a plan kept me moving forward when I didn't want to but knew it was the right thing.

After taking time last weekend to grieve and process what happened and what didn't' happen during in the fall, it got me thinking this week. I might benefit if I process things sooner than later. The flip side is that it takes time. So I'm looking at finding time and making space in my week for this new idea.

Mary, I have been really focused at getting things done so far this year. It has really helped keep the blues at bay. It has been easier for me to be productive because it is cooler and with DS out of the house I want to establish new routines quickly. I will find it interesting to look back at these early posts in a few months and see where we have made changes.

I looked around online to see if someone else had a list. I found two sites. I took the questions that I thought were relevant to me and put them all together. Here is my new weekly list of reflection question:

  1. What worked and didn't work for me last week? Why?
  2. What did I learn from last week?
  3. What is one thing I can do right now to make this coming week less stressful?
  4. What was last week’s biggest time sink? What can I do this week to avoid giving up so much of my valuable time to things that aren't meaningfully productive?
  5. What have I been avoiding that needs to get done? If it will take 3 minutes or less, do it now.
  6. Is there anyone I've been meaning to speak with?
  7. Is there anyone that deserves a big 'thank you'?
  8. How can I help someone else this coming week?
  9. What am I looking forward to during the upcoming week?
  10. What am I most grateful for?

I'm going to keep this list with my planner and answer in bullet point fashion. From there, I can fine tune my weekly list here. I'm going to make a list of monthly questions too. I think I'll work on that next week.

Mary, that is much more detailed then I was imagining. I can see how this would certainly work. I need to see if these questions would work for my situation or if I need to add others. I am really keen to make the most of every week this year, time is moving too quickly for me to not.

Katrina, yes, it is more than I was originally thinking. I did answer those questions in bullet point notations and was surprised with what came to mind. The subconscious has more power than I think.
