I'm not sure if anyone is going to post 2013 Jump Start January for the year round cleaning plan.

I'm not sure what goes first but in my opinion it would be best if the first task at hand should be the file cabinet. There is no better time to start a new year of files than at the beginning. It's time to gather all of those 2012 receipts and records, bind them together and put them in a box labeled 2012 receipts. If your files are generically labeled (Phone, Gas, Cable) then you can use the same file folders. If they are more specific such as 2012 Electricity then you can simply put the whole folder in your box and create a new 2013 folder for each item. I do not want to hold on to receipts and Christmas enevelopes that contain new addresses for weeks or until the office week rolls around. My computerized address list was lost when my DIL deleted it so a fresh new address book is in order; not to mention there were quite a few address changes this past year. JMHO

I am starting in my bedroom.
All the Christmas gifts are out of here now so I have more room,
Also my craft supplies a in this room and I need to check what supplies I have so I can start planning home made gifts.

Is someone would like to take on posting the weekly threads for JumpStart January, I would appreciate it very much.

Really you can start anyplace you like although the files and desks are in GREAT need here.

Simply post a weekly thread that either defines an area or asks posters to talk about the area they are working on that week. That's how we uaually did most of the plans because everybody had different needs.

I was just thinking about this this morning actually.

My main problem is sticking with routines, so I'm thinking of trying the Flylady beginner program so I can get some routines established (I think it's 30 or 31 days?).

I haven't had much luck with Flylady before. I generally start off well, get some progress happening, then I miss something and the whole system falls down around me lol!

So I'll give that a shot and see how I go from there. I'll still have my monthly areas, but they are really for things like painting/decorating/new furniture where needed etc, rather than cleaning. January, for me, is for storage areas (like the shed and in the roof). I choose January for those areas as it ties in nicely with the Christmas decorations getting packed away :)

I'm loving the plan to get all the 2012 receipts etc sorted out. Our financial year runs from July to June, so that's a job for me in July. It's a big job though, I have to admit!

Yes, I need this too. I'm great at making plans ... but sometimes the plans fall down all around me! LOL I'll get out my list I keep saved on my computer and update it for starting 2013. Yes, January is gone soooooooooo, I'll start with Feb! LOL

My Ongoing List

So, I updated for 2013. Some things were recently done as we re-did our flooring and painted our living/dining/kitchen/hall walls. And basically after 20 years of the same ole same ole ... re-did our house! No more white walls! Yea! Anyway ... if I can sort of keep up with my list here ... this is what I'll do.

January 1-12

[X] De-decorate living room and tree and ... mark the boxes!!!!
[X] De-decorate the kitchen and the dining room ... mark the boxes!!!!
[X] De-decorate outside
[X] Create a gift closet
[X] Clean out Christmas notebook, print updated pages
[X] Clean out refrigerator.....get rid of any lingering leftovers.
[X] Pack away holiday DVDs, music, books etc.
[X] Create or organize gift wrapping box/storage spot...put in new rolls of paper, tissue, ribbons, bags, etc
