I made two trips to donation centers with several boxes of books and several boxes of home goods. The living room and dining room are officially decluttered for the year.

I am now working in the family room doing one shelf, basket or cabinet at a time. It makes it much more managable and hopeful in completing a daunting task. :)

Got a couple returns made today so that is out of the house,

Ryan cleaned his room today and threw out old clothes, soxs, undies, pillows and who knows what.

A few broken hangers to trash.

Today some candy that I had here (left from Halloween--not opened--small boxes of the Werther's) went out to the guy helping with remodeling and also a snow globe that was shaped like an ornament and had Santa sitting in the chair looking at a list with glitter and a light in it. It was about 8". Jeff really liked it when he saw before Christmas and Teigan won the other one at Christmas Eve for the door prize so figured I would send it out of here.

Not really decluttering but....... 2 pieces of turtle cheesecake out of the fridge to work. Ryan brought it home from his Christmas party over the weekend and he doesn't really eat cheesecake so brought his and another guys home for us! I love cheesecake and especially from this place but........... Didn't want to throw it out. She makes like 8-13 kinds and all are good!

DH took a wooden pallet, old rubbish bin, some scrap wood and 2 bicycles as well as some other bits and pieces to the gutter. I have ordered a garbage pick up for today, we can have 1 free one a year for bulky stuff.

Took about 50 packs of hot chocolate mix to work yesterday for people to divide up if they wanted any. Love it but passing on.

6 boxes, one paper grocery sack and half a black trash bag went to the Thrift Store. Mostly Christmas decorations. I did not think they would take them but they did. Jumping for joy here.
Thankfully the majority of the thrift shops here take everything and anything year round. The one I frequent the most has a room of holiday items year round. Primarily Christmas and rotates through the rest of the holidays. Another shop hoards all of their Christmas items (including clothing) until early November. Then the shop is entirely a Christmas wonderland of shopping for about 4 weeks.

Not sure if this counts or not but: I finally finished the last of the ornaments I was working on. Some will be gifted, some for CIJ, and some for us. These bulbs have been laying around in my sewing room, then the basement for years (part of the make it or get rid of it pile). Once they dry into the gift closet they go and then out the door at Christmas. Now to do something with the rest of the pile…..

Ran to Mt. Vernon this afternoon and did a small drop off to Goodwill.

Got rid of a bag of Teigan's shoes, a coat, 2 or 3 doll potties, a stuffed shelf sitter cat I have had for years. Not alot but.....

3 boxes and tall basket set out for charity truck this morning. Amazing how you can always find things to donate. Oh, I found a place about an hour north of of me that takes vintage wedding dresses. Mine is 45 years old I think it’s vintage? Lol

Could keep the dress and make granddaughters garters, or some of the lace around their bouquets or etc.---just thinking.

Would it be worth saving incase grand daughters might like to wear for their wedding? Or make drawstring purses or aprons for the bridal dance. I helped my cousin make a clutch purse from hers for her daughter to carry at her wedding. Baby bonnets or christening blankets/ quilt maybe?
