JumpStart January: Week 9 Pantry & Closets

Wow...Week Nine...on my list that's pantry and closets....both fit my plans pretty well.

To clean the pantry and fridge before Easter!

and

My Room of the Month is the Master Bedroom so I will focus on the closet in there. It is time to start the winter to spring clothing switch anyway and I am working on making clothing outfit kits and simplifying my wardrobe too!!!

I was listening to Wayne Dwyer on PBS last night and he mentioned most people use only 20% of their wardrobe consistently. Wouldn't it be a space saver to get rid of the 80% you don't need!

Well I haven't been following the plan... BUT.... I have been doing some wardrobes... washing and decluttering so it's gonna be much faster when I do the rooms afterwards.

Had this for last week, but didn't do anything on it. Here it is again:

This week I will be working on the pantry. It is a large walk-in one that really needs everything sorted.

[ ] declutter and straighten long narrow shelves [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]
[ ] declutter and straighten deep shelves [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]
[X] clean cat eating area
[X] straighten mops/brooms/etc
[ ] declutter small appliances

Got a good start and it didn't take all that long. Why, oh, why do I put things off thinking they are harder than they are?

I have the kitchen & pantry for this week. I reorganized my pantry before Christmas, so it just needs inventory-ing and maybe a little decluttering.
3/13: The beautiful spring weather today gave me some extra energy. Hopefully I an finish the rest before the end of the week.

[]declutter and clean base cabinets [][][][][][][][][]
[x]clean ceiling fan and light fixtures
[x]clean/dust pot rack
[x]wash windows - might actually get outside done this week too!!
[]wipe off legs of chairs & table - I never knew how much milk my kids spill until I get below the table!
[]wipe out refrigerator
[x]clean oven - thank God for self-clean!
[x]wipe off walls
[x]dust baseboards
[x]wash throw rugs
[]mop floor - including corners!

Whew! I hope I can put a dent in this!

Got off to a great start and then never did anything more. Going to do one narrow shelf while I make dinner tonight. Don't know if this will work or not.

Wow! I can't believe how productive I've been the last few weeks!

Decided to clear out my wardrobe in our master bedroom. I followed the 20 / 80 principle and had a good old clear out. Decided to donate to charity all the clothes I have outgrown (unfortunately), and also bag all the clothes I haven't worn in the past 12 months! 2 large bin liners later, my wardrobe is no longer bursting at the seams and I know I wear everything in it! :flower:

I read on a previous post here the person is going to wash windows. It reminded me of a friend, she washes her windows by the moon. Sounds kooky but she swears if you wash windows when it is a new moon they turn out better and are easier to wash. Has anyone ever heard of this? I think its kinda funny but she only gets her hair cut on a new moon too. Maybe I just have kooky friends? Another friend here puts rose quartz rocks in the window so they can get energy from the sun then puts them in her water for a couple minutes to bring the water back "alive" They think I am weird when I look at them like they lost their minds. Am I the only skeptic?

Well my mom used to cut hair during the full moon too (says they grow faster and more nice after).... but for the rest whooo.... too funny!

Hi all,

Thanks for all the well-wishes for my ankle. It was sure sore! It's been 2 weeks and I think we are rounding the corner of starting to feel better. My sis, the nurse, took care of me.

I did some lower cabinet work actually with DS4 pulling everything out (he's good at destruction) and we looked to see how I could re-arrange! And we did nicely! Later, hubby helped, too. So ........ I am taking some time off between the ankle, DD15 4H Youth Fair preparations, and a vacation April 4-20 .... I'll put off cleaning till later. I revised my list .. because Life Happens!
