I just thought it would be nice for those of us starting early to have a separate thread. I hope this is ok....

January Jumpstart

Week One- Downstairs Bathroom

I'm going to get started early because this, by far, is going to be my busiest “week”. I'm not sure if DH is going to get to “his part” of it all, but at least I will have made every effort possible. This bathroom is currently being used as a storage closet due to a halt in the remodel since before I was even pregnant with my little one. I'm hoping the progress will move DH along. Here is a basic list of what needs to be done to get me started....

[]Clear out and find new homes for everything that doesn't belong
[]Finish restoring door
[]Hang door
[]Scrub Shower and rehang curtain
[]DH to install toilet
[]DH to install sink
[]Hang cabinet
[]Hang towel bars and accessories
[]Clean new sink
[]Scrub toilet
[]Buy new towels
[]Decorate/Finishing touches

I'm getting a headstart, too. This week I'm working on my sewing room. I spent the better part of yesterday in there and I am rewarded with some free space :) On to the drawers...

Well the kids are finally off to school tomorrow and I am off of work soooooo I will definitely be working on my bedroom. We are in a freeze warning through tomorrow morning right now. Today I was just tooo exhausted to do anything except feed the kids today.... I feel like I wasted a day but my body felt that I needed to catch up I guess plus my back pain is a little more than normal so I think the cold weather is affecting me today also.

Tomorrow will be my jumpstart :jumpinghearts:

I'll be starting next Monday, when my kidlets go back to school. Thank the Lord.

I'll be doing a laundry room reorganizing/repurposing project. I'll also be posting pictures on my blog about it.

This is all depending on my back problem clearing up before then, however. I've been down for 4 days with it, but I'm feeling better today...I got up and moved around a lot and it really helped.

Sousfu, I love your lists - I don't think they are psychotic at all.

I am tackling the master bathroom this weekend, because it's a small room and I can't stand it anymore...I must declutter and organize so it's easier to clean!

Clean mirror
Take everything off vanity, out of drawers, and cabinet under the sink
Wipe down/vacuum these areas
Toss expired/broken/"what was I thinking?" makeup, meds, and other toiletries
Put "keeper" makeup/toiletries away - nicely!
Same with dental care drawer
Wash bath mat
Wash valance over shower door
Scrub floor - this is a small room so I will scrub with a brush and bucket
Do the "basics" of course - clean shower, toilet, and sink

And keep it this way!!!

In front of my computer
I was cleaning off my desk when I found my Kitchen list I had made some time ago for another challenge.

I have several notebooks including a Flylady one. I really don't use the Flylady one unless the internet is out. I think I need to work a Household Notebook. I have the Notebook I made at an Archiver's Class last month. Guess putting it to work would be a good idea.

I am so with you on that one sister....lol After I get my house set up FULLY (by the end of the month) I will start assessing my notebooks and use the more "functional" ones regularly rather than one here and there!!!

Our holiday house in North Idaho
I too needed to get a jumpstart on the month. The first week of january I got my farm books all caught up and all Christmas was put up before the new year!!
Week 2 (this week) has been going through and organizing paper work, seed orders together and tax info prepped. Today will finish cleaning off desk and corner, finishing up tax prep tomorrow. So when the last tax info gets here I can file and be done. Next week, our official jump start week will find me starting on my upstairs revamp/redecorating. Redoing a room for DD9 and DS11, am moving the little kids upstairs this winter!!!!! Will give me a craft room and office/pantry on the main floor, I am so excited, I have been waiting to do this since DD18 moved in August. No time with the holidays till now, wish me luck!! :lucky:

Weeellll....I didn't get any of my plans done this week! I realized just how big that laundry room project is going to be and got totally overwhelmed, plus I didn't really have the resources to get paint and I had bunco here last night, so I didn't want to start any big stuff that I couldn't finish/hide before then. Plus, I'm lazy.

So....new plan!
DH said he'd help me (us) with the little boys' room tomorrow, so we'll start there. It is just a total wreck. We repainted and redecorated a year or so ago, so none of that needs to be done, just cleaned and defumed! We're going to do that tomorrow. Then, next week, I'll start on the laundry room, doing just a little each day instead of trying to do it all. Since I want to paint it white (very, very unlike me, but I have a vision....) DH said if I'd be patient he'll probably have some leftover white paint before very long and we'll paint it then. (He's a pro painter, remember). So...pretty good motivation to wait, like I need that!!

On the plus side, my porch is in excellent shape, so I"ll be ok for next week. I still have the Christmas garland on it, but I leave that until spring-I just like the way it looks, so wintery and pretty. When I can get some blooming plants to replace it, I'll take it down. BTW-I don't turn on the lights on the garland-although I probably would if they were clear instead of multicolored!!

Good job to everyone who has actually accomplished something this week!
