Woo! It's June and I am ready to declutter! I was just looking for Thank You cards for dd in my card supply stash. I had a bunch of all occasion cards I ordered at least 20 years ago through Current Catalog that are so outdated in looks I won't send them. Today is the day I do send them... to the garbage. LOL! It's probably a 2 inch stack of cards and extra envelopes. :rolleyes: Oh, this is a wonderful, freeing feeling.

Here is the recap of what I got done over my week of staycation:

* 16 newspapers out
* 9 magazines out
* 20 hours deleted from the DVR. 2 shows were the biggest at 4.5 hours each!!
* Coat closet clean and organized- coats identified to leave in the fall.
* Linen closed clean and organized.
All expired meds- prescription, cold, flu, ibuprofen- out!

Observations:
* I noticed the newspapers were from when my arm broke.
halimer- All were in one larger restaurant (Culver's) bag.
Those bags are a menace! They hold more than you think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what happened- it got to holiday time and I simply gathered them up, put them in a bag
and stashed the bag.

* With the linen closet, I felt like this was a good "first pass."
I will need to revisit again in 4- 6 months.

* The bottom part of both the coat and linen closets- the part with the most space-
was filled with random stuff. Obviously a place where I tend to stash stuff. Need to be mindful of that.

* When I DVR big shows I need to figure out when I can go through the show within 10 days of taping it.

I obviously won't have a whole week to work on this stuff but I do want to continue the journey.
I am sooooooo over "stuff!"

Well done Miss Annie. I too am over stuff, it was starting to make me uncomfortable in my own home which is meant to be my haven. I still have a little way to go here but I am on the right track.

Got the last of the items off the verandah yesterday. Everything that is not needed in the house is now stored in the garage. Next plan, declutter the garage!!

I started on my bedroom. I think this overall decluttering is going to be a two part series: The first is now when I focus for one week on each room. The second is in the fall will I will reconsider all that was questionable or I may have missed the first time.

My bedroom has been my Christmas wrapping station since 2020 when everyone was doing online school and/or returning from college and using my wrapping space aka family room. I found lots of Christmas Past remnants and often said, "Ah, that's where that got to." I went through my shoes and under the bed storage today. I have a grocery bag of donations and one grocery bag of trash.

I've moved on to the drum/office room. I tossed out one bag of trash.

This is going to take me some time. I have a lot of paperwork/photos/memorabilia to sort through here. With regards to the memorabilia, this is the highlights of their school years that they saved or I saved for them. I will probably save most, toss duplicates, and then when all is done, I will have a box for each of our children.

Decluttered the refrigerator/ freezer. Feel so much better. I can see what’s there and what needs restocked. Was able to put together 2 meal kits one we will have tonight. We try very hard not to waste but some of it needed to go.

We are decluttering the freezers too. There was a little left that we bought in the move that needs to be used first. DH is making a beef curry for tonight.
