Welcome to June Rudolph Day!
Here we are, halfway through our way to Christmas!

Movie: Pick your childhood favorite. Relish in the feelings of what it felt to watch this movie with the whole family.
My choice will be: A Charlie Brown Christmas. What will yours be?

Book: Stories Behind the Great Traditions of Christmas by Ace Collins
I love to learn about the history of traditions, particularly Christmas ones.

Music: John Denver and the Muppets- A Christmas Together
I rediscovered this one last Christmas. You can listen to the whole thing on YouTube.
My very favorite: Noel: Christmas Eve, 1913.
I found myself playing this beautiful song over and over. I found out that it was an old poem that John put to music.
And who doesn't love hearing Miss Piggy calling John Denver, "Jonathon." Haahaa

Craft: Easy Peppermint Foot Soak but in small jars
I love a gift that encourages women to pamper themselves

Recipe: Pozole
Sharing with you a tradition in the Southwest. Pozole is a rich, comforting soup that is often served on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
Here is a link that shares 6 Pozole Recipes.

Enjoy!

I use Libby for audio books. Libby uses your library card. I searched for Stories Behind the Great Traditions of Christmas by Ace Collins ... and Libby doesn't seem to have it but something callled Hoopla does. Also, through one's library card.

Another app ...

I was wondering if anyone has used Hoopla? :)

I used hoopla all the time. Libby is my go to if Hoopla doesn’t have what I am looking for. I am more successful with Hoopla.

Myron's Mom- I love the hominy in this soup.

My family doesn't serve it at Christmas but I do order it at restaurants.

I made a green version a few years back. It was spicy!

I need to try the red (traditional) version.

According to my nephew, his new fiancée makes excellent pozole. We told her she needs to make it for us!
LOL

Great ideas to explore later this month! For me, it's always "Suzy Snowflake", a short that is played several times through the Christmas season on WGN, followed by Frosty. Need to reacquaint my self with John Denver's Christmas music.

There are always such wonderful ideas shared in the Rudy Day posts. As part of my personal CIJ activities this year, I am going to look back on some of the ideas of this year and last and make notes so that I can enjoy them.
