Minta- I've been known to go back and check old posts to figure out when something happened. LOL But I think deleting after a certain amount of time back would be good.
I want to explore this thread issue -- when we did this same upgrade at MMC there was some confusion at first about how to see unread posts. I think we built a tutorial there that we can share here.
On the old thread issue, I'd tread lightly. Couple of reasons why -- first of all, search engines need to see how old the site is. If information is still relevant it should stay
@MrsSoup there are a lot of good ones to keep but there are a lot that are just idle chatting especially by users that are no longer here and offer no real information that could be removed. Nothing on the past few years but there a lot from several years ago.
I set up two archives at MMC -- one visible, one hidden. Relevant stuff stayed but was "closed" to new posting...and old stuff was archived and out of view
@Jeff Westover that makes sense. I know when I first started looking at MHH site, I was overwhelmed. Maybe having a tree with fewer "branches" will make people less overwhelmed when they first see??
I think it was useful! I really enjoyed being able to chat, even though I was late. I think now that we know how to use this maybe we'll hop on more often just to chat.
This was great and it's nice to have you run the first one so we can see how it works. Thank you, @Jeff Westover, for all you do for Christmas-lovers and you too, @Minta, for being our local go-to with questions!
Another thing I think we want to do is to set up one area where premiere-only content shows -- visits can see it is there but can't access it. But we want there to be a special showcase for our best members
