March 2025 decluttering

I took glass jars that had accumulated in my laundry room to the recycle place where I work
and 2 copy paper boxes I had taken home in the fall. Their purpose was to load stuff for donate but
after I broke my army, that all stopped so they were just sitting there, driving me crazy.
Since I was going to the recycle place, I took them too. I can always grab a couple more from work when I am ready.

Also took 3 old magazines.

I also threw out 2 pairs of socks. They have never fit right and I just suffer through wearing them.
Nope- Good bye!

Paper is my issue. Jody- I'll trade you paper for tables!

2 tops. A pair of shoes I never wore and 20 pairs of socks almost new I have so many socks. I need to stop buying them donated that to Goodwill.

Have not had time to do more here but when I was at mom's cleaned the shelves above washer / dryer, got 2 BIG garbage bags to give and threw away as much. Dad was very happy about all that. Worse part it doesn't even look like stuff left still so much more!

So, now that he’s retired …

DH work bag is still in the wardrobe. We did cull all of his work clothes, donated 6 or 7 shirts and 5 or 6 pairs of pants. He did not feel like organising ties and belts so will do that another time.

Dh put 4 sweaters and two flannel lined jeans in the thrift store box and LC2 has taken them home already. Her BIL might like them.

Went through the waiting mail and was able to toss a lot of it.

Dh has 4 more shirts he decluttered since he is packing away the winter items.

Another box of items from the farm donated. A first aid kit that is not needed (we have 3)! I need to go through all the blankets and throw rugs so have added that to the list.

I haven't gotten started but I can see that I have a long way to go.

DH has put 4 belts a couple of ties and another polo shirt into a bag.
I have put two thermometers and two bottle openers in the bag.

DD just came out with 4 tops she wanted to declutter because they are not long enough.

Threw away more paper and some broken items.

Have a battery operated flame moving candle for Goodwill.

Decluttered scraps of recipes and tossed that were in with cookbooks and kitchen manuals.

Decided to not keep kitchen appliance manuals in kitchen with cookbooks but go ahead and file them in the filing cabinet with all the other manuals. Why did I have two places anyway?

I need to do that with my recipes.

Dropped off one box and two luggage sets at a thrift store. Yay!

I really need to update my household binder. Throw out all the manuals for appliances that I no longer have and add the new ones. Thanks for the reminder, adding it to the to do list.

9:30am and already Two mattresses are outside for pick up for the homeless shelter. Then a lady stopped over to pick up our North Pole Express train that we had on Marketplace. She turned out to be one of the stylists that has done my hair. I have an appointment with her to get my hair highlighted next month. Organizer comes at 10 so I am hoping to have lots more moving out Today. Update: 4 hours with the organizer moved out 3 large trash bags, 2 boxes of thrift store items, 1 1/2 boxes of papers to shred. Cleared off one large rolling shelf unit and the organizer worked on the craft cupboard while I sorted paper work. I need to go vacuum the floor.

3 old soccer balls in bin and some glass jars in the recycling. We found a blow up air mattress, that will go to the church.

So much has been tossed because of the mouse situation.

Perhaps I should plant one in some of DH's piles

Ryan and I cleaned the breezeway today. We burnt alot of boxes, papers, trash, old clothes and old magazines. Junked an old car seat, have a bike to either try to sell or put out for free and found a case that belongs to the guy helping with remodeling. Have several garbage bags of things to go through yet in breezeway. (clothes--old toys--craft items) and some boxes from great aunts.

Was starting to take stuff out of pantry (to completely clean it) when Ryan asked if I wanted to help him. Since he wanted to do it and with his ankle (walking boot) I helped. Pantry still sitting.
