Mardi Gras always begins 12 days after Christmas which is referred to as the 12th Night. Generally there is a huge extravaganza. It is at this time that everyone bids farewell to the previous years Kings, Queens and royalty to make room for the new royalty. Mardi Gras is generally a month or two long with activities and events just about every weekend.

It often runs into Valentines Day but that is okay because the whole event began as a romantic love story anyway. Because it begins in January it's much easier for us to decorate for Mardi Gras in January and save February for Valentines Day.

So without hesitation the decorating commences. I have created an album titled Mardi Gras 2013 to post all of the decorations and ideas as I complete them. Please feel free to use this thread to post all of your Mardi Gras links, decorations, recipes and ideas as well.
