May 2018 Declutter Club

So what's on the agenda for May? I know a few of you have planned some garage sales... let's get the extra stuff out of our houses

Last weekend I did basement bathroom cabinets and got rid of old medication. I also got rid of 1 sweater and 1 drawing I had made that was in a frame.
Today I got rid of 2 sweaters, 1 sport cami (never worn), 1 sport bra and 2 bathing suit covers... ddil took it all.

Sort and inventory one tote each day - it's one of my monthly goals on my blog so I have to be accountable. I've been piling things up in the spare bedroom forever - at first it was divided into three stacks - one to go to Okinawa in the regular shipment, one to go to long term storage, and one to go into the express shipment to Okinawa. Now it's all to go to Washington so that makes it easier. Still a big task so one tote a day makes it manageable - time to get rid of things that haven't been used since the last move so I should be able to make a nice stack for the consignment shop.

We have had excellent luck with the decluttering so far since we had the yard sale. It did push us to get it done. Now I'm looking around thinking there sure is a lot more I could declutter.

good job on the decluttering all. I suppose that the lovely Spring weather will help.

We have been working outside and Allen hauled a truck load of metal to the scrap yard and we have 3 trash cans filled full and stuff piled also for the trash guy tommorrow. Lots to go but looking better little by little.

DD26 and I cleaned out the spare junk room and hauled off to donate. Then she went through her room. Then she and DS14 clean up screen porch.

Woot!!

DH got rid of the huge flat screen tv he had brought from his jobsite in January or february... no sound so why keep it.

I have a ton of scrapbooking supplies. I think over the next few weeks I'll gather up all the items I will not be using to have a sale or put them on eBay.

I had 5 extra dining chairs that were taken yesterday. Today, I went through the mudroom closet and bagged outgrown scarves, gloves and hats.

I am very inspired by you all. Am waiting to finish double shifts at work and then I am into it.

I have small bag of items my daughter no longer wants that is ready for the thrift store.

Had a three day weekend so I managed to completely clean the spare room. Glad to be getting things done

I old sweater in the garbage (not good enough for giving or even rags).

Went through both large and small storage room upstairs and out closet - have overflowing large trash bag of clothes to be donated - need to inventory first for taxes - still need to go through DS's closet too.

Also took down one large bag of trash from upstairs as well.

I also got the pantry reorganized, expired items tossed, etc. So glad to have all that done!

i went thur cabinets and threw awaw some spices that had expired and a couple can foods . i hate to waste food but sometimes that happens. cleaned out fridge and threw away some leftovers.

Hoping to get into the garage today or this weekend and bag anything up that can go to the charity bin. I have a tote of breakable things, they will need to be taken elsewhere.
