Gave some canned goods and cereal to the post office's food drive.

Got all the donated items to Mum's place, she will get it al to the church this week. I mentioned a few other things that I want to get rid of so will take those on the next trip. Would love to take a trip to the landfill this week and also take our old fridge and microwave to the metal recyclers.

I'm joining this month's decluttering after a mortifying morning.
My landlord needed to do repairs in the house and I had no idea he'd need to access the bedrooms - where all the "uh oh visitors are coming over, hide the mess" clutter goes.
Of course there were piles of laundry (including underwear), stacks of books, nick nacks, general junk lying around which he undoubtedly saw.
And also - I left the plushies I bought dd2 out in the open, they spotted them, so they now have an early Xmas gift.

I am so done with living like a slob :(

Bit by Bit it will help decluttering.

Whusky-
Glad you are here! Even 10-15 minutes a day will give huge results.
Doesn't seem like it at first but it adds up!

Over the years I watched The Minimal Mom on YouTube for decluttering help.

Yesterday, I helped my friend declutter her homeschool book shelf and her craft bins. Wow! What a good job she did with tossing things that were garbage, and donating stuff she knew finally that she wasn’t gonna ever use. She didn’t want to save for “what if I might need that someday “ or “her fantasy self”.

I took the donations away and dropped them off to the Humane Society’s thrift store on my way home.

Decluttering can be hard to start with and then it gets easier. Set yourself some small goals, tidy the bed or the top of a dresser and move from there. If you need some encouragement we are here for you.

Going through TONS of papers at parent's house... mom kept alot since she has started Alzheimer.
Got rid of all dad's clothes (except the ones for the funeral) and kept only a few things for mom for when she gets her place at a facility.

.. but of course some things are ending up here, will have to go through that again before putting it away

Thanks everyone for the support and motivation. I usually do a huge house clean on Saturdays then maintain during the week. I've skipped the last couple of Saturdays due to events. It's just crazy how quickly it builds up.

Allen took a bag of pull tabs and a bag of empty ink cartridges to the school. A couple of weeks ago the secretary took in 265 pounds of tabs and we won first place for the most in the small school section.

I have nearly finished organising the new storage cupboard that we have built in the mudroom. I have emptied the container that stored our picnic items. Will donate the container, a small cooler bag and a few other items.

Going thru Allen's stuff in front room I got 3/4 bag of trash. He still has items to sort and take out.
