I am feeling a little behind on my menu planning for this year! Need to to take some time to work on it so I can start stocking up on non perishables each week.
Me, too, about the nonperishables.

I am feeling a little behind too. I really need to lock in plans and then shop for supplies.

I bought a larger pack of toilet tissue, paper plates, and bowls than usual. We don't regularly use paper plates or bowls, but I keep them on hand for power outages and such.

This is the only time of year - for Rosh Hashannah - that noodles go on sale so I have started stocking up. Also got 10 ears of corn for $2. I could eat them all but will figure out what to do with the leftovers.

Corn can be put in the freezer with the silk and shucks on it. Take it out when you're ready to cook it, shuck it, silk it, and away you go for however it's going to used.

Thanks for the suggestion! I may get another batch and do that, as I love corn, but this batch I just shared with the neighbors.

I started doing this last year. I cut a little off both ends, take off the tough outer leaves and freeze it in sealable bags. Works well for me.

My mother-in-law cooks up a batches of corn and then slices the corn off the cob length wise. She then freezes what she doesn't use.

We do both. Cut it off and cook and add a few things then freeze and also freeze with leaves and all on. Years ago and older couple shared that with us.

Stocked up on chicken last night. Meat market had boneless chicken breast and boneless thighs on sale for $85 per 40lb case. Grab a case of each. Divided it up into 48 bags and into the chest freezer it went. We pick up our beef order later this month.

I bought quite a few items while I was in Canberra and left them at Mum's. Not too much left now to buy. Will still need to buy fresh items closer to Christmas. Potatoes are in short supply here at the moment. We may have to reconsider potato salad.

Still have not decided what to have for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning breakfast. We will be staying at DD's and I am not familiar with her kitchen. Christmas breakfast may be fresh fruit or warm croissants. Need to decide pretty soon.

We just made something yummy DH saw on Facebook.

1 lb ground breakfast sausage roll
2 cans Pillsbury crescents
8 oz cream cheese, room temp
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
1 egg beaten for egg wash

Line large cookie sheet with parchment paper.

We cooked up sausage. Drain. Mixed in the two cheeses. Unrolled the one tube of crescent rolls in one rectangle. Don’t separate. Spread the meat/cheese mixture ontop but not all the way to the edges. Then unroll the second tube of rolls on top and pinch the sides down together. Brush the top with egg wash. Bake 375* for 12 - 15 minutes until golden brown.

And, we are done!!!
It was not the most organised that I have been in terms of meals, Christmas morning was a bit of a bust but my DH never complains. Will make notes in my planner for next year.

That breakfast crescent roll thing looks good! Husband would enjoy that.
Everything was a little out of sorts here for meals but turned out great. Even my cheese ball without the beef was fine. The ham was outstanding this year.
