Memorial Day -- 4th of July -- Labor Day Patriotic Decoratio

Today is the first day of Memorial Day Weekend.

For our Neighborhood Street Party - I got red/white and blue balloons and streamers. I decorated the quiet corner where our neighborhood party will be held today. Plus, the neighborhood children cut roses and put them in glasses of water with ten cent paper American flags - to decorate the tables.

Now - a quick shower - and then out to celebrate Memorial Day and the USA!

Anybody thinking about 4th of July yet?

Any plans? Plans to have no plans?

What is the best 4th of July you have had?

It's a wonderful holiday. ONE of the best for us was --- a group of people organized to have a picnic at the big park, to watch the fireworks display. I think somebody went early, with blankets and a book, to get a good spot. (A spot near a bathroom, actually. The parks commission had set up lots of porta-potties for the holiday.) Everybody brought lots of good food to share. No alcohol was allowed in the park. Everyone laid around on the blankets, or occasionally threw a frisbee or took a walk. There were so many people having picnics in the park that there was wonderful fun "people watching". The mood for everyone was happy. Oh - the fireworks were nice too!
